はじめに

SAP ERPシステムなどのSAP NetWeaver基盤のシステムを別サーバにシステムコピーする要件は多いと思います。

オンプレのサーバの場合、ハードウェアやOSのサポート期限切れに伴い、
新しいサーバに移行して、OSやミドルウェアのアップグレードを行うケースも
多いと思います。

今回は、システムコピーに役立つ「Refresh Database Content」の活用パターンについて紹介します。

 

Refresh Database Contentとは

「Refresh Database Content」はSAPインストールやシステムコピーで使用する
ツール「Software Provisioning Manager （略称：SWPM）」を実行すると
選択することができるオプションです。

SWPM_RefreshDatabaseContent

 

すでにSAPをインストールしているサーバに対し、データベースのみ更新したい場合に利用できるオプションです。
このツールが何を実行するかというと、その名のとおり、データベース内のホスト情報やSIDなど、DBのコンテントを変更してくれます。

 

活用パターン

「Refresh Database Content」は以下のようなケースで活用できます。

• HWの保守期限切れに伴うサーバリプレイスのためシステムコピーを行う。


• 本番環境のシステムコピーは、「初期構築」、「移行リハーサル（数回）」、「本番移行」の最低3回は行う必要がある。


• システムコピー2回目以降は、コピー前に新環境をリセット（SAPアンインストール）している。

上記の場合、システムコピーの度に事前準備として新環境をリセットし、
システムコピー時にSAPを初回インストールする必要があります。

 

「Refresh Database Content」は2回目以降のシステムコピー時に利用することができます。
この方式では、SAPのOSユーザ、プロファイル、サービスなどを削除せず、再利用することができるため、システムコピー処理時間も短縮されるメリットがあります。
また、新環境のリセット時はSAPアンインストールではなくDBの削除のみで済むため、事前準備作業の所要時間と手間を省くことができます。

 

Refresh Database Contentの実行手順

1. 事前準備として、新環境のSAPセントラルインスタンスを停止し、
   RDBMSの管理画面からDBを削除します


2. ASCSインスタンスのみ起動します


3. SWPMを起動し、「Refresh Database Content」を選択します
   


4. Parameter Settings では、Customを選択して、選択肢を確認しておくと良いでしょう


5. SAP System > General Parameters では、プロファイルディレクトリを
   指定します
   


6. プロファイルディレクトリに複数のインスタンスプロファイルが存在する場合どのプロファイルを正とするかを選択します
   （Ignoreするプロファイルにチェックを入れます）
   


7. Ignoreしたプロファイルが存在した場合は以下のメッセージが表示されます
   


8. OSユーザ「<sid>adm」のパスワードを入力します


9. FQDN名を設定するかを指定します


10. データベースのコピー方式を選択します
    （画面はMSSQL ServerのDetach/Attach方式を採用した場合です）
    


11. DBサーバのホスト名を指定します


12. DBのSIDを指定します


13. DB Schema のパスワードを指定します


14. DBが使用するメモリサイズを指定します


15. Exit OptionでSAPシステム起動時に一旦インストレーション処理を
    停止するかを指定できます


16. クライアント000のDDICパスワードを指定します※設定はこれで終了です


17. Parameter Summaryで設定した内容に誤りがないか確認します


18. Nextをクリックするとインストレーションが実行されます


19. ステータスバーが100%となり、「Execution of Service has been completed successfully.」と表示されていることを確認します
    


20. 任意でアンケートに答えます


21. 以下の画面が表示されたシステムコピーは完了です

This article describes about Utilization case of "Refresh Database Content" for System Copy.

 

What is Refresh Database Content?

"Refresh Database Content" is the option in the tool "Software Provisioning Manager (SWPM)"
to install or system copy SAP NetWeaver.

SWPM_RefreshDatabaseContent

 

You can use this option only when you want to refresh the database in the server which is already  installed SAP system.

You can update the information of the host or SID and so on in the database with the option.

 

Utilization case of "Refresh Database Content"

You can use the option "Refresh Database Content" in the following cases.

• To do system copy to replace the server from old to new one.


• You have to do system copy at least 3 times ( at the first time to install SAP in new server ,
  at the test to migrate the product system , and at the actual release)


• You have to uninstall SAP before you do system copy ( after 2nd System Copy)

In this case, you have to uninstall SAP at every time when you do system copy.

 

You can use the option "Refresh Database Content" when you do system copy after the second time.
In the option , you can reduce the steps and the time because you can reuse the OS user , profile files , services etc .So you don't have to delete them.

 

Procedure of Refresh Database Content

1. For prepare, stop the SAP Central Instance and delete DB in the management tool of RDBMS in the new server.


2. Keep ASCS Instance running.


3. Execute SWPM and select "Refresh Database Content".
   


4. In Parameter Settings, select "Custom" to make sure of the options you can choose.


5. In SAP System > General Parameters, select the directory of SAP profile.
   


6. If there're 2 or more Instance Profile files in the directory, choose the correct one.
   （Mark the checkbox of profile to ignore）
   


7. If you mark the checkbox of profile to ignore, the following message is displayed.
   


8. Enter the password of OS user "<sid>adm".


9. If you use FQDN , Enter the FQDN name.


10. Select the database installation method.
    


11. Enter the hostname of DB Server.


12. Enter the SID of DB.


13. Enter the password of DB Schema.


14. Select of enter the memory size of DB.


15. Choose if you want to interrupt the installation before the SAP system is started.


16. Enter the password of DDIC in the client "000".You finished the configuration.


17. Make sure of the configurations in Parameter Summary.


18. Click the Next button to start installation.


19. After the status bar is 100%, make sure of the successfully finished.
    


20. You can provide your voice in "Feedback t SAP".


21. When you can see the following screen, The system Copy is completed successfully.
