SAP S/4HANA Cloud 2105 and SAP S/4HANA 2021 will no longer support Microsoft Internet Explorer 11 (IE11). This also applies to new releases of other SAP products providing SAP Fiori based on SAPUI5; read on to find out more.
Microsoft now provides only limited support for IE11: it is a legacy product which does not fulfil the requirements of a modern browser regarding features, security, performance etc. As a result, support of IE11 by SAP Fiori will be discontinued later this year, which means that, to name a few, the following product releases will no longer support IE11:
- SAP S/4HANA Cloud 2105
- SAP S/4HANA 2021
- SAP Integrated Business Planning for Supply Chain 2105
- SAP Marketing Cloud 2105
Note that this is not an exhaustive list of products which will discontinue IE11 support.
Should you have built your own stand-alone applications with SAPUI5, please not that support of IE11 will be discontinued starting with SAPUI5 release 1.88.
Support for the Microsoft Edge Legacy (EdgeHTML) browser will be discontinued on March 9
th, 2021, since Microsoft has announced that they will discontinue support for it on that date. Unlike the situation with IE11, already delivered products and SAPUI5 versions are affected too. Support for the new Microsoft Edge (Chromium) browser is not affected by this.
