Creating Admins in Feature set “B”

In the old days of NEO we had a very simplified basis for roles There were a set of users and those rules had predefined roles

The role base authentications saw also somewhat primitive

When Cloud Foundry came along we enhanced Roles and Role Collections as well as splitting out authorized users into Administrators

And Users

and as you can see, each user can have role collections assigned to them

With the introduction of the new “Feature Set B” cockpits this year this has been further refined and the Administrators and Users tabs have been combined back into one to simplify user management.

The question that has come up occasionally is when a customer gets their onboarding email they login, create a sub account and go…

“Where do I setup admins for this subaccount?”

What you will now notice is that in the “Role Collections” panel, there is now a new role collection called “Subaccount Administrator”

This role collection actually takes together 4 additional  roles and combines them into one to allow you to manage subaccounts using a common set of roles.

This allowed us to remove a panel and hopefully simplify the user experience.

We hope you will look forward getting your hand on “Feature Set B” and for a preview, create a trial account where it has already been launched.
