this 21Q1 release is now the seventh version of the Transition Roadmap to SAP BW/4HANA, and still there are some interesting updates I would like to share.

First of all, the SAP Value Assurance services have been restructured in the architecture planning area:

  • The services for architecture and strategy are now bundled in the service "Architecture Transformation" (some of them were covered in "Planning the Digital Transformation" earlier). The "Innovation Strategy and Roadmap", "Analytics Strategy", "Integration Strategy", "Hybrid Cloud Strategy" service components and more are now all part of "Architecture Transformation".

  • With SAP Value Assurance version 21Q1, the popular "Architecture Point of View (APoV)" topics are now available for SAP Value Assurance customers, too. APoV has a great bandwidth of covered topics including "transformation routes" for legacy solutions, and "Data and Analytics" topics like "SAP Analytics Cloud and frontend tools", "SAP HANA data warehousing (inlcuding SAP BW/4HANA and SAP Data Warehouse Cloud)", "SAP Planning and Consolidation" and more .

This is the new services structure mapped to the transition roadmap:

You find the Architecture Point of View service descriptions in the Strategic Planning activity and in the task "Understand the benefits and functionality of SAP Analytics Cloud". The Architecture Transformation service description is linked in the Strategic Planning activity and the tasks below, too.

There is a new view on the PE services for MaxAttention customers available, too, called "PE focus package for conversion to SAP BW/4HANA". We have included this as well in the roadmap to show this set of recommended and optional services of PE services - most of them available under Values Assurance, too.

The Roadmap Viewer tool itself comes with some new features, by the way, which make collaboration easier - you can for example send direct links to single activities or tasks via email or social media.

Another very good feature is the "Where used" function in the accelerator list which points you to all places in the roadmap where this accelerator is mentioned.

Don't miss the download option which provides the newest project plan templates 21Q1, the roadmap picture ppt and the roadmap text in pdf format.

As always, your feedback is highly welcome!
