Just the last weekend, it’s been my first 100 days with Corporate Finance IT Services and I felt it’s the right time to take a step back and reflect on what has been going on. Maybe because of my background, maybe simply coincidentally, this ended up in numbered highlights.
100 days. 7 musketeers. 543 meetings. 7 (internal) SAP Products. 50+ new topics. 10+ achievements within the delivery. 2 Virtual Cocktail Parties. 1 Quarterly Portfolio Planning. 1 Certification. And countless learnings, joyful moments and ideas to be explored further!
Who are we and what do we do?
Corporate Finance IT Services (CFITS) are part of the Finance & Workforce Solutions within the Intelligent Enterprise Solutions organization. We consult, implement and operate IT solutions to make people more productive and help SAP run at its best.
How it all started?
In the peak of wave 2 of the pandemic, I was stepping into the new waters within the SAP sea ready to take on a new challenge as a Chief Product Owner, determined to make the best out of it. I didn’t go to a seaside summer vacation this year, but I was super ready to tackle the waves of the new learnings, experiences, eager to meet and connect with new people and bring my ideas, energy, skills and knowledge, all I’ve got. Truth to be told, I was excited, expected a lot and looked forward to it, but what actually happened in the overall tough 2020 was a major highlight making the whole year much better.
Fully virtually, yet fully naturally, I’ve become the 7th musketeer of the great Corporate Finance IT Solutions management team and felt at home. I’ve always believed in “one for all and all for one” approach and from the day one, I saw it’s not only possible and realistic, but it’s truly foundational – to succeed, to stay strong, to overcome any obstacle and bring the joy along the entire way.
We’ve got big ambitions, a lot of hard work and accomplishments behind us, but a lot of plans ahead as well. And the best part is, together we can and together we will.
In just 100 days that flew away, I’ve learned hundreds (no exaggeration!) of new IT terms and concepts, got to know and exchanged experiences and knowledge with tens of colleagues from all around the world, even built at least one friendship!
I started taking over 7 super-interesting internal SAP Products and learned 2 new tools to work with. With the support and help of my team, I managed to conclude my first quarterly planning and forecast and witnessed more than 10 amazing achievements and rollouts of new features and solutions, that not only improve the people’s (work) life, but are big steps on the journey towards the Intelligent Enterprise.
Improvements and small changes towards the better are all around us and I am happy and proud that some of those have already been born, worked on and will be put into action with a kick-off on the new 2021. Leaner processes, even better collaboration and accelerated delivery – here we come!
Even that is not all. As we’re getting ready for a further agile transformation, I had an amazing opportunity to participate in 4-day workshop on the SAFE Lean Portfolio Management, engage in countless readings and learning and successfully obtain an LPM certification.
What’s ahead? Plenty of learnings and opportunities. Numerous milestones and challenges to tackle. Countless of great things to do and support, and most definitely, a better version of myself.
