What about SAP Stammtisch and new one in Italy
Hi community,
the new SAP Stammtisch in Padua is made.
In this blog I want to share the feelings and the activities to permit other people to create basic SAP Community event like Stammtisch.
Where I have known better the SAP Events
One year ago I’ve been in one of the most interesting SAP Inside Track I ever been: SIT Berlin.
I search and participate in this kind of event because they are easy and informal. They give us the possibility to meet new people inside the world of SAP and outside the rule and the margin of a company. There is no customer, no firm. Only good mood and friendly folks.
The main talk permitted me to know about Stammtisch was made by Matthias Wild :
After that, in my mind, it’s start to grow up the desire to create something.
First at all: the desire to share!
When I thought about SAP Stammtisch I thought about our enthusiasm to know new people who like our same passion to the technology based on SAP.
Our community is literary full of nice people and you can feel the wants to help in any post you read.
Why not share all this information and talk with other actors in real. The SAP Stammtisch is the first step to go outside our comfort zone.
The advice from the SAP Expert
Also in the Sap Inside Track you can speak with various experts and veterans of the SAP Event and I’ve been surprised that the firsts Stammtisch were made with only 3 persons (like you, your boss and your colleague). That info removed me afraid of the failure to create a bad event.
When I saw the talk I noticed one friend of mine, Nil Peksen (thanks you Nil!). I’ve known her in another Inside Track, and she helped me on the firsts steps of the organization.
When and Where
Bad year maybe for a SAP in loco event. I’ve waited after all the quarantine and the summer before I organize this one.
You can express your desire to make a SAP Stammtisch and communicate it with a SAP Council member. After, you need a place.
At this moment it’s good advice to made it in the park. People can stay spaced and the cool of the open air event it’s always charming.
You can go to a park with some bar inside and ask which time they close. Also ask the possibility for booking some tables for you and your group. Better not in the weekend because usually there is fewer people in the week day, and you don’t need to scream for share knowledge.
Some advice
Keep in touch with the people, set a main point or main topic. It is not really important and the conversation will go for sure to other spaces but for start the meetup it’s good.
Make a round of presentation if there are newer What are they doing, what are you doing and the connection with SAP 🙂
I called a friend of mine from university for compare cloud technology and it was a good idea.
Good drinks and apéritif food are always appreciates.
Conclusion for first Italian Stammtisch
I am lucky because a lot of my colleagues (actual and ex) came and called another friends. We are trying to create a new channel on Slack for Stammtisch Italy and put the first bases for a new SAP Inside Truck Padua (maybe in 2021).
The situation was happy and friendly. We start with talking about ours innovative projects, difference of SAP events and more light stuffs like favourite TV series.
The crew
Don’t be shy, ask the community and now with the remote Stammtish you can use this new format for meeting new people all around the world !
Stay home and stay safe, see you in the next SAP Event.
Great you have organized this no matter about the current situation Sebastiano Marchesini. Yes, it could be a better year to have community driven events but I am also very happy that a lot of the organizer converted their physical SAP Stammtisch into a virtual one. Let's just stick together (not physical, but with our minds and passion), stay tuned and just keep on going.
Everyone please stay healthy!
Best, Svea
