S/4HANA Cloud Community Migration to SAP Community

SAP Community is our digital front door connecting SAP customers, partners and experts. In order to provide a world-class experience and make it easy for anyone to do business with SAP online, SAP is harmonizing the Community experience. The SAP S/4HANA Cloud Community will migrate to the SAP Community on February 3, 2021.

To continue access to all the content and answers you have been getting from the S/4HANA Cloud Community and ability to ask “how to” questions through the Community, user profiles will be migrated to the SAP Community. Your profile will be migrated to the SAP Community where members can access their personal information, migrated content and their S/4HANA Cloud legacy reputation (gamification) elements. If you already have a profile set up on the SAP Community, your content from the SAP S/4HANA Cloud customer community will be assigned to your existing profile. To learn more about the migration, check out the Migration FAQ.

If you do not want your S/4HANA Cloud Community profile migrated to the SAP Community you must take the following action:

  • Delete your existing profile in the S/4HANA Cloud Community by January 22, 2021
  • You can remove “delete” your profile from the SAP S/4HANA Cloud Community with the following steps.

Delete your profile from the S/4HANA Cloud Community:

1. In the S/4HANA Cloud Community. Click on Account Settings.

2. Click on delete my account.

If you opted out of moving your profile from the S/4HANA Cloud Community by deleting my profile, the profile will not be migrated and will be anonymized during the migration. You will not see your profile in the SAP Community. Content that you have created, questions, answers, blogs in the S/4HANA Cloud Community will be migrated and posted as “Former User”, your name will not appear.

If I already have a profile set up on the SAP Community, then your content from the SAP S/4HANA Cloud customer community will be assigned to your existing profile.

We are focused on the success of our S/4HANA Cloud customers and are fully committed to creating an excellent experience for you in the SAP Community. Our S/4HANA Cloud Community has grown to over 16,500 members, with hundreds of questions answered monthly and reduced incidents by almost 50%. We will be offering additional enablement videos and tips to support the transition so that we can ensure that you are all able to continue asking questions, searching for answers and finding information, such as resources, tools, knowledge and connections. If you have questions that are not answered in the FAQ please send an email to s4hccommunityhelp@sap.com.

      Dear SAP

Can you please clarify a bit more on the point that "If you already have a profile set up on the SAP Community, your content from the SAP S/4HANA Cloud customer community will be assigned to your existing profile".

My current profile in the SAP Community is with my personal S-User ID but from memory the S/4Cloud Community required a Corporate/Work ID as User Credentials.

If the profile is now migrating what does the word "assign" mean??

      1) If the two S-User IDs are different will it merge the activity from the S/4H Cloud Community to the personal S-User ID

      2) If the two S-User IDs are different will I have two different profiles now on the SAP Community. One with my existing profile and the other with my Corporate profile

      3) If the two S-User IDs are different, will the existing personal profile have a sub-profile assigned that will show the Corporate/Work ID details

      4) Or will the existing profile remain and only the activity content from the S/4Cloud community be transferred over including gamification elements

      5) From memory on the SAP community we cannot have a display name similar to another member. What if the display name is already taken by one of the existing members? What will happen to the migrated profile. How will it be managed

Can you please update this blog with the required rules. How will the different profile scenarios managed?

My preference would be to retain my personal profile and move all my activities to the SAP Community profile including gamification and should not have any links to my Corporate profile.

      Regards

      Dear SAP

The current SAP Community portal now requires me to make my profile public to even browse when I login. I would always browse the community with my S-User ID and password to keep my account running. In the below screenshot, if I click browse anonymously the system just kicks me out. I cannot login anymore. What does "make your profile public mean"??

Will it show all my personal details like my work details, age, name, the country I belong to etc... because that defeats the purpose of having a display name.

I don't mind if it shows my member history, the points I have earned, my blogs and posts with my display name.

      Regards

      Hi Tasneem,

You don't need to make your profile public to browse/search and view content. All content is publicly available. However, if you want to participate (ask a question, write a blog post, like, vote, etc.) you would need to change your profile status to public.

When your profile is public, you can choose the attributes you want to make visible to others. You can make the changes in your profile -> Account & Settings -> Personal Info (https://people.sap.com/#personal_info)

If you cannot search and view content with a private profile, please visit this page https://community.sap.com/resources/support#Technical_Support to report the issue.
