Delete Multiple BOMs in One Go
This blog post is part of a series called “Tip of the Week”.
Black Friday is behind us, holidays are right around the corner, and the new year is quickly approaching filling the hearts with hopes for a better future. While hopes are dedicated for the things we cannot control or change, there are some actions we can take to have a clean start next year. Take for example Bills of Materials. If you are working with production for few years now, you probably have multiple BOMs defined in your company database. Are they all still relevant?
If you want to cleanup your list of BOMs, SAP Business One enables you to delete the unnecessary ones in one go:
Specify the required ranges in the selection criteria window and choose the action “Delete BOM Header”. The BOMs that match the defined parameters are listed and selected in the “Bill of Materials – Delete Header Preview” window:
Make sure only the BOMs you’d like to delete are selected and click OK.
I hope you found this information helpful and as always, I’m looking forward to your feedback in the comments section below. Hi Ari,
Thank you for writing such an informative blog!
I cannot find "Delete BOM Header" in my system but I can see "Change BOM Header". Is there any setting I need to change to get this option available? If yes, can you please help with the steps required to enable the same?
Thanks once again!
Hi Bhoomika Sharma,
Thank you for your feedback.
The option "Delete BOM Header" is available as of SAP Business One 10.0 FP 2008 and SAP Business One 10.0 FP 2008, version for SAP HANA.
Which version are you using? If you are using an earlier version, this option doesn't appear
Regards,
Maya
Hi Maya,
Thank you for the help!
Yes, I am using an earlier version of SAP B1 9.3, which is why it is not working.
Best Regards,
Bhoomika Sharma
