You have probably already heard me talking a lot about mindfulness, being thoughtful and positive, and being friendly to yourself. It is, because it’s a huge part of my life. Daily meditation, sports, spending some time in the nature, spending time with myself all alone, and simply taking care of myself. Since companies like SAP include the topic “Mindfulness” also in their offerings for employees keeping the work/life balance, it has gotten even more important in my daily work, too. But what is it about? It’s a simple way of living in the moment without thinking about the past or the future. It’s about taking the time to focus on yourself, observing what is going on inside your body, without judging. The outcome: it helps you to reduce the stress level, pain, anxiety, or even depression. You become more resilient for whatever you face in your life (read more: https://www.psychologytoday.com/us/basics/mindfulness).

In SAP Community there is already the tag Emotional Intelligence, where you can find a lot of information around the topic Emotional Intelligence and also Mindfulness. That means the interest is there. I also think especially these times where everything is digital like working from home and combining work with family, the lines become blurred. With a huge online event like SAP TechEd on December 8-10, 2020, SAP is going to stream a lot of interesting content. It might probably be a challenge for some to keep on track and stay focused. Therefore, we are happy to offer you Mindfulness Practices during SAP TechEd 2020 – virtual.

How are we going to do that?

The SAP Community team is offering together with the SAP Mindfulness Ambassadors, who are performing regularly mindfulness sessions at SAP, some time in between, where you can sit back, breathe, relax, and get fresh energy for the rest of your schedule and day, or even learn more about mindfulness practice. Because no matter if physical or virtual, attending an event is exciting but can also be exhausting. Join our mindfulness sessions to refresh and get new impulse!

What you can expect

We have scheduled five different sessions á 25 min. over the three days from Dec 8-10. Please feel free to join the session which fits most into your schedule. Just consider that we have 2 different types of sessions – choose which fits best according to your time zone.

Kick off the day: An Introduction to Mindfulness and Practices for More Energy and Focus
In this short science-based and practical session, you will learn the basics of mindfulness, its benefits, and how it can help you gain more clarity and energy in your day-to-day. We will do a short practice together to kick off the day with presence and focus.

Wrap up the day: Recharge Mind & Body with Mindfulness
A short mindful practice to re-calibrate and recharge after a full day of content and learning. We will practice mindful movement and mindfulness together to wrap up the day with intention.
