SAP Cloud Platform Trial Goes Global – New Region in APJ

As several of you know, the SAP Cloud Platform Trial is available in Europe (Frankfurt) and US East (VA), both running on AWS as the underlying infrastructure. Over the past few months, we’ve received feedback from SAP Cloud Platform enthusiasts that a trial-enabled region in APJ was missing to complete the trial experience. On top of that, trial users expected to be able to select an Azure data center, as we continue to follow through with our multi-cloud strategy.

Well, I can happily say that we heard you and have recently made the SAP Cloud Platform trial available in Singapore. You can now create a new trial account and choose Singapore (Azure) as your region:

You might be asking yourself the million-dollar question: Can I use the same services as in the other regions? Currently, the most used services that are also productively available in the Singapore (Azure) data center are available on trial. Of course, we plan to continue enhancing our trial portfolio. And if you want to test out services that are not yet available in this new region, you can still create a subaccount in either Europe (Frankfurt) or US East (VA).

The SAP Discovery Center service catalog is where you can find the latest information on regions and service availability. Use the filters to see only trial enabled services:

Test out a Starter Scenario

If you’re not familiar with the concept of Starter Scenarios, you can find them on our Trial home page. Starter Scenarios are sample use cases that you can complete solely by using the SAP Cloud Platform trial. They help you put services into context and understand the added value. For example, learn how to set up your own SAP Cloud Platform Integration Suite tenant and design your first integration flow.

Anything else?

We are continuously working on improving the trial experience. Just recently, we’ve extended the trial to 365 days (previously had a 90-day limit), released new Starter Scenarios, boosters, updated the service lifecycle management experience and included Cloud Management Tools with Feature Set B. And more updates are in the pipeline, based in part on your continuous feedback.
