In recent years the challenges for the logistics sector have increased considerably. Whereas customers are demanding shorter delivery times, the flow of goods increases significantly. In addition, there are problems such as a lack of fleet capacities, shortage of skilled workers, increasing traffic density and increasing cost pressure due to dynamic supply and demand drivers and variables. As a result, information is often siloed or delayed, and shippers don’t get a complete view across operations that they have outsourced to service providers.

They need to find better ways to connect to their networks and a central, interoperable platform for all involved to orchestrate collaboration across modes and to communicate and collaborate efficiently. Ultimately, companies strive for perfect order fulfillment, while keeping costs down and optimizing resource utilization across the complete value chain in an international context. A cross-company view of the supply chain is required to be able to cope.

The opportunity for the future will be a neutral, multi-modal, global network connecting logistics partners and systems.

SAP Logistics Business Network provides you with an increased business speed through an always on, secure network of networks – a multi-network and partner collaboration for the end-to-end logistics execution.

With a network of networks for logistics, you can get real-time insights globally, collaborate efficiently with business partners and discover new trading partners, guarantee freight coverage and competitive pricing, while at the same time identify bottlenecks and mitigate risks as soon as they arise.
