This blog provides you with the latest and greatest innovations that our SAP S/4HANA Cloud 2011 release has in store for you in the area of Governance, Risk, and Compliance. As illustrated in my last blog on Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) with SAP S/4HANA Cloud 2008we deliver exiting new business cases regarding the detection of privacy risks with SAP Privacy Governance, two new scenarios for electronic invoicing with SAP Document Compliance, cloud edition, as well as new fields for Intrastat dispatch declarations in Luxembourg.

Watch my video to get a quick overview of our SAP S/4HANA Cloud 2011 highlights for GRC:

In this blog, I illustrate the following topics:

Privacy Governance

International Trade

Tax Compliance

Privacy Governance

Detection of Privacy Risks For Business Partner and Contract Accounting Data Through Automated Privacy Procedures

As with the last two releases, also with SAP S/4HANA Cloud 2011, we deliver additional business cases for the detection of privacy risks in SAP S/4HANA Cloud by integrating with SAP Privacy Governance. The corresponding scope item is called 3KX.

If you are interested in a quick introduction of SAP Privacy Governance and/or the business cases included in the 2005 release, I highly recommend you to read my 2005 GRC blog.

Now, with the 2011 release, we support the following new detection use cases:

  • Instances when an employee has left the company, but is not blocked in the BP table

  • Instances where blocked business partners exceed the information lifecylcle management (ILM) destruction date

  • FI-CA contract accounts that exceed the ILM retention period

  • FI-CA posting documents that exceed the ILM retention period

  • FI-CA payment data from payment runs that exceed the ILM retention period

Fig. 2: With privacy risk detection with SAP Privacy Governance, compliance specialists can detect purchase orders in SAP S/4HANA Cloud which exceed the ILM retention period

Please note that this scope item is excluded from default activation. In order to make use of privacy risk detection with SAP Privacy Governance, you will have to purchase additional licenses.

Additional Fields in Intrastat Declarations for Dispatches in Luxembourg

With the 2011 release, we introduce two new fields for Intrastat dispatch declarations in Luxembourg,  You might be aware that there are upcoming legally required changes as of January 1, 2021. For this reason, we have now incorporated the partner VAT registration number and the country of origin as new fields. Thanks to this, Intrastat Specialists can adapt their business processes to be well prepared for the upcoming changes by starting now with specifying this information.

Activation of Document Transfer to SAP GTS for Specific Company Code

The second innovation with International Trade is from Compliance Management. Here, you have  now additional options when it comes to fine-tuning the document transfer to SAP Global Trade Services. So far, it was possible to activate this on a document level only. As of S/4HANA Cloud 2011, this can be restricted also by company code or document type and company-code level. As you can imagine, this allows you to significantly reduce the data traffic between S/4HANA Cloud and SAP GTS.

This has to be configured by BPC Experts using the 'Manage Your Solution' app.

Tax Compliance

As this is the first time that I mention SAP Document and Reporting Compliance in a blog, I start with a quick introduction. If you would like to jump directly to the 2011 innovations, you can click here.

Quick Intro - SAP Document and Reporting Compliance, Cloud Edition

With SAP Document and Reporting Compliance, you can create and process electronic documents. It transforms documents created in SAP S/4HANA Cloud into predefined exchange formats and exchanges them electronically with legal authorities and business partners. In many countries, transactional documents must be available and transmitted electronically among business partners.
Let's take Italy as a typical use case for tax compliance: In Italy, all VAT-registered businesses have to issue invoices electronically using the country's online exchange system, Sistema di Interscambio (SdI). Invoices have to be sent directly to the government and not to the respective business partner. In additon, they must be formatted in accordance with the Italian Revenue Agency (Agenzia Entrate) rules. With SAP Document and Reporting Compliance, you can create and process these invoices using the 'EDocument Cockpit' app.

SAP Document and Reporting Compliance, cloud edition, can be natively activated within SAP S/4HANA Cloud and offers two services: The Peppol Exchange Service and the Partner Integration Service. In order to exchange electronic documents with business partners, you have to integrate S/4HANA Cloud with Peppol Exchange. This service allows you to exchange electronic documents among the participants of the Peppol network. The second service is the Partner Integration service, used for sending invoices to partners in countries that are not directly covered by SAP Document and Reporting Compliance, but are covered with the help of a partner.
For the Peppol scenarios we have so called missions on SAP Business Technology Platform available. If you are interested to know what is necessary in a project and what kind of tasks you have to execute, we suggest that you use this standard project board which can be used for all Peppol countries

2011: New Scenarios for Electronic Invoicing Available

With the 2011 release, we have two new scenarios for electronic invoicing available: one for the Peppol Exchange service and one for the Partner Integration service. So far we provided scenarios which are available via the Peppol infrastructure for Germany, the Netherlands, Singapore, Denmark, Sweden, and Norway. With 2011, we deliver a new scenario for exchanging invoices with government agencies in Belgium. The second innovation is a new scenario for electronic invoicing via local partners, in this case our partner Sobos, in the Dominican Republic.
