Why should I connect Crystal Reports to SAP Analytics Cloud?
This is a step to transition your analytics use cases to the cloud – using your trusted calculations from existing Crystal Reports to a scheduled import to SAP Analytics Cloud. This is one option for you to extend to the cloud at your own pace, to take advantage of the modern analytics features in SAP Analytics Cloud while still leveraging your on-premise data.

Does any of the steps involve create a Transport Request and importing it through the system?
A transport is not required. You can schedule a recurring Crystal Reports 2020 report in the BI Platform, then create an OData service.
I see that the oData link from the SAP BI platfrom is not using a GUID. How will this work if you promote the schedule from a development environment to production?
Currently CR OData service generates a unique URL for each recurring schedule. After promotion of the schedule, users have to find the new URL in the destination (production) BOE system, and then create a new OData connection in SAC. We may take GUID in to consideration in the future.
Do we need to create OData for each CR connection?
Yes, for each CR connection, you need to get an Odata URL.
Is there live data available for Crystal Reports or can we only use import?
Currently, only import connection is supported. Live connection is the direction we are looking into for the future.
Is this functionality limited to CR 2020?
BI 4.3 is required. But rpt files created earlier (for example, with CR 2013/2016) can still be used in BI 4.3, as source of this OData service.
Is the license for Crystal Reports included with SAP Analytics Cloud when connecting CR data?
It is not. This use case should be seen as an extension of Crystal Reports capabilities, not a replacement.
Is it necessary to use the SAP BusinessObjects BI platform to consume CR on SAP Analytics Cloud?
Yes, you do need the SAP BusinessObjects BI platform. Trying to connect to a stand-alone RPT would not work.
Can I connect other non-SAP data sources to SAP Analytics Cloud?
