Using Help Content When Creating Data Models in ADT

Hi colleagues,

did you ever ask for specific help content when working with ABAP Development Tools (ADT)?

We provide you the ABAP Keyword Documentation and the ADT Eclipse help plug-ins in the ADT client.

In short, you can open help content and documentation from the …

  • Menu bar: Choose Help > Help Contents
  • Creation wizards: Choose the ? icon on the left bottom
  • Keywords: Choose F1 on the keyword to open the ABAP Keyword Documentation
  • Elements and CDS annotations: Choose F2 to open the Element Info

This video guides you how to open and to use help content when developing, for example, a data model:

Hi Wolfgang! Sorry, I'm confused... Is this a separate plugin? Is this not included together with ADT tools?

Also please update the blog links, they're the author's links with edit mode. We can't open them. The public link will have the blog name in it.

      Thanks!

      Hi Jelena,

no, the ADT Eclipse help plug-ins are part of the ADT client installation. No extra installation required.

Only on-premise customers who work on back-end versions lower than 7.55 need to activate the relevant docu ICF nodes in order to enable the ABAP Keyword Documentation (a.k.a. language help).

Thank you for your information regarding the links. I updated them.

      Could I help you?

      Kind regards,

      Wolfgnag
