Product Information
Update to LaMa 3.0 SP17 today!
With this new feature support package – SAP Landscape Management 3.0 SP17 – we’re delivering a couple of new features which have been requested by several customers. In this blog post I would like to highlight 3 of them. All the other ones are listed in the table below and more details can be found on the SAP Help Portal for SAP Landscape Management.
*** Update on 11/30/2020: Please make sure that you updated to SAP NetWeaver AS for Java SPS17 or later. ***
Once you have updated to SP17, you’re able to retrieve and even change ABAP profile parameters just with a click out of LaMa. You can do the change on a single system, but also on multiple systems at the same time. This will immensely reduce your work especially for the change as you don’t have to log in to several systems and do it manually.
Another feature I would like to highlight is related to the SAP Host Agent. You can do an upgrade of the SAP Host Agent on one host or multiple hosts directly via LaMa without switching to the command line of the operating system of the hosts. This really helps to simplify and accelerate the entire upgrade process.
The last feature I would like to mention is the SAP Kernel Update. Besides the possibility to view the current Kernel release, you can now perform an update on a single system as well as on multiple systems. The old kernel is backed up and can be restored if there’s an error.
We’re very proud that we could release these new features and improvements to you and look forward to delivering even more innovations in 2021 and beyond. We encourage you to get in touch with us if you have ideas how we can support you even further with SAP Landscape Management.
As already stated, please find the feature list of LaMa 3.0 SP17 and additional info below.

Hi Jens, thanks for the announcement. One of the most visible topics is also the totally white Fiori screens now. Any plans for a dark theme? Thanks in advance for your answer 🙂
Hi Ulrich,
thanks for your comment and pointing this out!
We actually have an option to change the theme to either high contrast black or high contrast white. Please check out the SAP Note 2992861 – Changing SAP Landscape Management theme via URL parameter.

Hi Jens,
Wonderful, thanks. The “/index.html?sap-ui-theme=sap_fiori_3_dark#/dashboard” is exactly what i was looking for – thank you. For the future it would be awesome if there would be a possibility to configure it via “Personalize” in the user menu on the top right!
Thanks so much!

Hi Reto,
thanks for your feedback and questions!
LaMa will still run for many more years on NW Java. For integration with 3rd party solutions, please take a look at the Automation Studio capabilities as well as our RestAPI offerings.
If you have further questions or feedback, please reach out to me via email.

Hello LaMa fans,

Is this part of the Enterprise or Standard edition?
Thank you,

Hi Martin,
this is only available in the LaMa enterprise edition.
Best regards,
Jens
Hi Jens,
not sure who to ask but I was not able to find the answer in SAP notes. We would like to do following scenario:
We have the setup of 2 Azure subscriptions, All the non-production under one subscription and the production environment are on another subscription. Any idea, Can we use the cloning method via SAP LAMA tool across subscriptions ?
thx
Hi Martin,
Microsoft is the developer of the Azure connector (also called Cloud Manager) for SAP LaMa. They added multi-subscription and cross-zone system copy/clone support in LaMa SP17. So what you are trying to do should be doable.
SAP Note 2343511 will be updated shortly with the above feature details.
Regards,
Naeem
Hi Naeem,
Got it. Thank you.
