What’s New with SAP S/4HANA 2020 for Oil & Gas
Early October the new SAP S/4HANA 2020 release has become general available for customers (see Sven Denecken’s blog post).
In addition to the release highlights that are relevant for all industries we have again shipped specific innovation with SAP S/4HANA 2020 for the Oil & Gas industry which I would like to share with you in this blog.
With the new SAP S/4HANA 2020 we are now complementing the innovation for Oil & Gas in the following areas:
- Scheduling assistant application for SAP Trader’s and Scheduler’s Workbench (TSW): The scheduling assistant application is a new powerful Fiori app helping schedulers to easily match product demand and supply. The S/4HANA systems generates proposals for sources of supply ranked by total logistics costs increasing the supply chain efficiency. With the SAP S/4HANA 2020 release we support elaborated sourcing scenarios by taking into account transshipments and allowing for up to two modes of transport.
- Inventory Planning Workbench (IPW) for SAP Trader’s and Scheduler’s Workbench (TSW): We continued enhancing the new “heart” transaction of the SAP TSW, the Inventory Planning Workbench . We have improved the IPW usability by providing direct navigation from IPW to specific applications such as the Volume Mass Reading app to update the physical inventory details for a location-material combination. This helps to increase the ease of use and the end user efficiency.
- Integration between SAP Integrated Business Planning (IBP) and SAP TSW-IPW: With the new release we have deepened the out-of-the-box integration between SAP IBP and SAP TSW-IPW. The bulk forecast created in SAP IBP can now be used in the IPW stock projection due to a new consumption logic. So far the forecast has only been displayed for information.
- Integration between SAP Joint Venture Accounting (JVA) and SAP S/4HANA for central finance: SAP S/4HANA 2020 supports the full integration between SAP JVA and SAP S/4HANA for central finance allowing to replicate SAP JVA master data and documents into single and central finance system.
