Cheat Sheet

New to the event? You are welcome!

In case you feel a little overwhelmed by all the SAPanese, jargon, and lingo, here is a cheat sheet to sort it out.

24th Edition

The SAP Technical Developers Conference was first held in 1996 in Orlando, Florida during SAPPHIRE. This evolved into an annual event with conferences in Europe, the US, and Asia. The last decade it has been hosted from three location, mostly Las Vegas, Barcelona, and Bangalore, for 3-4 days.

For the nostalgics, see

Sign Up / Log In

Learn how to sign up, build your schedule and get the most out of more than 500 sessions available.

Before you can sign-up for the event, you need an SAP ID service account, also free, and if you have interacted with SAP in any way in the past you probably already have one (e.g. your SAP Community account) but if not, here is how.

/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/sapnwabline_885687.png

Tracks and Sessions

This year, the tracks nicely map to the latest Business Technology Platform update which, as you may recall, is an integrated offering comprised of four technology portfolios:

  • Database and data management
  • Application development and integration
  • Analytics
  • Intelligent technologies

The 4 BTP tracks have been complemented, like last year, with tracks about the Intelligent Suite and digital transformation. New are the Customer Experience and Partner Community tracks.

Session Catalog

For an overview of the tracks and sub-tracks with session recommendations see

Learning Journeys

Those familiar with SAP training will have completed Learning Journeys before. For those new, here is a briefing: What are Learning Journeys?

Tracks

There is a Learning Journey for each of the tracks

Business Technology Platform

In addition, two Learning Journeys help you to familiarise yourself with BTP.

Certification

For those brave enough to attempt a certification, four additional Learning Journeys have been made available.

/wp-content/uploads/2016/02/sapnwabline_885687.png

Hands-On Workshops

During the Event

Phew .. thanks ... that was really overdue.

      Q: What is the schedule?

I see „December 8–10, 2020“ and „48h Event“ ... that seems to not fit together.
As the event this year covers all times zones the date (dec8-10) is much more than 48h.

Having a more detailed schedule (start/end) would be helpful to plan accordingly.

      Good questions, Christian Braukmüller !

When I know more I’ll update the blog accordingly. Note that this is just a humble community contribution, all official communication is through the event site events.sap.com/teched-global.

The 48 hours, as I understand it, refers to Channel 1.

For most timezones the 48 hours are Dec 8 -10, and it will be around the 48 hours, plus if you miss something we make sure there is access to the content after.

As many others looking forward to more details on the program 😉

I am a bit worried regarding the upcoming virtual experience having the 'Sapphire NOW Reimagined' in June, as well as the 'ASUG Best Practices' in September in mind. Crossing fingers for your setup.

If you in some way can "engage" and interact with us listeners during the session, I strongly encourage you to do so. Real-time feedback tools like Kahoot! or Mentimeter "actually works" 😉

I understand these limitations when in person, but why these stringent limits for a virtual event?

      Hi Denys,

This blog has been very very helpful in choosing the tracks and sessions for the TechEd days. I was looking for information on how to place request for "on demand" sessions - presumably people should be demanding those in some way. Could you please share the process if you come across the same.
