Since the launch of SAP S/4HANA in 2015, many companies have identified the move from their SAP ERP system (ECC) to SAP S/4HANA as key milestone of their digital transformation.
A very obvious discussion in this context has always been around the additional value, SAP S/4HANA provides compared to its predecessor. The following five bullet points summarize this additional value on a high level:
Especially the topic of user experience but also aspects of the remaining bullet points have been described in a video series created from 2016 onwards. In this series business processes are run in parallel in a SAP ERP system (ECC) with classical SAP GUI user interface and in a SAP S/4HANA system with SAP Fiori user experience. The processes are compared with regards to a set of criteria covering the process duration, the number of clicks and the number of fields filled (see example screenshot below).
The series was quite popular, since it did not only make some value propositions of SAP S/4HANA very tangible, but also offered end users, which are crucial, when it comes to software adoption, an impression of the new user experience.
With the launch of SAP Fiori 3 as target user experience for SAP products in 2019 and the ongoing evolution of SAP S/4HANA including new applications and process improvements, the past four years have brought a lot of changes that are not yet reflected in the video series. This is why the creators decided to start updating the series in order to reflect the latest state of SAP S/4HANA and the SAP Fiori user experience (see example screenshot below).
