The TLDR* phenomenon – and what we can possibly do to improve

(*too long, didn’t read)

I think you all experience this to some degree: There’s emails floating in, providing links to websites, brochures or whitepapers with tons of information. Some might be helpful for the job and role you’re in, some won’t.
But how could you possibly know without reading through all the stuff?

Analyst papers are one of those assets that often require significant time to read and digest, but in return offer huge value for the reader if – yes, IF the content is really relevant to YOU. But how to find out without registering first (if the report is behind a registration gate, which is the norm) and taking time to read through the content?

Let’s take one of the latest IDC papers for SMB’s as an example. The paper investigates how cloud ERP can act as a “business health enabler” for small and midsize enterprises. To give you a glimpse of the IDC paper content, we created two little documents:

Do you think that these two little summaries are helpful for you to decide whether to download an analyst paper or not? And which format do you like best – the video or the infographic style?

I’m curious to hear from you in the comments!

Thanks & all the best,
Uwe

(P.S.: If I made you curious about the full report and don’t mind registering, here’s the link)

Hi Uwe, both were great pieces of content I could see myself using with clients and prospects. I think the video was better because it had a lot more information and inspires the viewer to download the report.
