In my previous blog I presented Household training model. It can be used to practice model creation, formulas and calculations, data actions and lot more. In this blog I demonstrate some allocation functionality using Household training model.

Task

Allocate expenses to individual family member.

Set proportional factors

This is easy. It is done from menu Allocate -> Distribute Values (Ctrl+Alt+D). Proportional factors will be used later on by allocation process

Create Allocation Process

Allocation process is created to address complex rules using menu Create -> Process -> Allocation. The process consists of two steps:

In first step allocates all expenses excluding Tobacco & Alcohol and RRSP are allocated between all family members (parents and children) using Seed proportional factor

In second step, Tobacco & Alcohol and RRSP are allocated between parents using Seed proportional factor

Execute Allocation Process

Allocation Process created above is executed from menu Allocate -> Execute Allocation Process

Voilà
