SAP Marketing Cloud (SMC) only supports SAP HANA 2.0 from release 2008 onwards. Since many years SMC allows upload of
Custom HANA Views for usage in segmentation and other solution areas. With SAP HANA 2.0 the modelling of calculation views has evolved to the SAP HANA Deployment Infrastructure (HDI) and therefore comes with a new development environment within SAP Web IDE.
SAP HANA database
To model Custom HANA Views, you require a SAP HANA database. You can decide between a cloud version, that is available with a 90 day free trial on the SAP Cloud Platform as well as a subscription or paid service afterwards, or a free SAP HANA onPremise version called SAP HANA 2.0, express version. If you decided on the cloud environment you can choose the subscription based
SAP HANA Cloud Service as well as the paid service SAP HANA Service (
AWS and GCP,
Azure,
SAP Region). To setup the different databases, click on your selected SAP HANA version:

If you decided on the SAP HANA 2.0, express version you can follow this

Development Environment
The SAP HANA Deployment Infrastructure requires a SAP Web IDE for modelling. The SAP HANA eclipse development is not supported any more. If you decided to go with the SAP HANA 2.0, express version, the SAP Web IDE is part of your installation. To open the installed SAP Web IDE check, this

On November 13, 2020 the SAP Cloud Platform, Neo trial environment will be discontinued and as a result SAP Web IDE Full-Stack trial will also be discontinued. Currently the SAP HANA native development tools are not yet available within the SAP Business Application Studio. Therefore you find the
SAP Web IDE for SAP HANA development on the SAP Cloud Platform multi-cloud environment. To access the SAP Web IDE trial version for SAP HANA development follow this
tutorial. To configure the SAP Web IDE with your SAP HANA cloud environment, click on your selected SAP HANA version:

When you are finished with setting up your database and development environment, you can download the
SAP Marketing Custom HANA View metadata information, that contains all required tabled and views to develop own views.
