CASE STUDY 2:ENEL
ENEL, a global utilities giant in Italy Group is the largest Italian company in the electricity distribution and meter reading sector. It soughed to improve its billing cycle speed with a goal of handling more than one million printed invoices per hour and to comply with Italian regulatory authorities. The magnitude of transforming the existing, on-premise system to a cloud-based solution was a challenge serving 31.5 million customers reaching 7,400 municipalities in Italy.
After transforming its on-premise to cloud sing HEC and SAP S/4 HANA, below were the tangible results it realized.
CASE STUDY 3: Swiss Post Ltd
Challenge: Decreasing letter volumes, increasing competition in the parcel market, and low interest rates have resulted in decreased income and margins. At the same time, customers (business-to-business and business-to-consumer) expect personalized and flexible physical and digital solutions around the clock. The underlying legacy system landscape made the situation even more challenging. Some 11 decentralized ERP and 9 business data warehouses, separated by Swiss Post Divisions with decentralized core processes and master data, result in lack of real time transparency and high cost in the consolidation of financial, customer, and supplier data.
Solution To compete in this challenging market, Swiss Post is undergoing an overall digital transformation to become an intelligent enterprise. Its core processes and data are being redefined and centralized into one digital core. The system landscape is being dramatically reduced to one instance of SAP S/4HANA and one of the SAP Business Warehouse application. It is moving procurement and HR into the cloud with SAP Ariba and SAP SuccessFactors solutions and introducing central master data governance based on
the SAP Master Data Governance application. To drive new cross divisional opportunities, Swiss Post is using SAP Cloud Platform as its innovation platform. The overall organization is becoming agile with innovation projects supported by the Focused Build for SAP Solution Manager solution.
