How to Find SAP Table by just knowing nothing about SAP? Its True
Introduction
After working with SAP for more than 15 years and travelling across the Globe for SAP Projects one issue I always use to have how can I keep track of all the SAP Tables associated with different Modules. If you are working as a SAP ABAP Consultant you need to keep the name of tables in your Fingertips. Sometimes this you know from other Experts and sometimes you have to dig it out. After exploring I found a very easy way to dig out the SAP tables associated with a Business Process Area. Just check this blog and conquer the SAP world.
SAP is just like an ocean and every droplet is like one SAP Table. How to find the relevant SAP Tables for a process without knowing anything.
Solution
Go To Transaction Code SE16T and execute for Find Table option as highlighted below
Now you get the below screen
Now enter the Business Process Name. In my case I want to know Table name for Cost Center
We got all the relevant table so easily.
For the video version please check link below.
Conclusion
Using this Tutorial anyone can find the tables related with any process. Sky is the Limit My Friends

Hi Arghadip,
Amazing articles.
I tried to execute SE16T and ended up getting the below message.
Error "Transaction SE16T is unknown - Message no. 00031"
Tried the program *SAPLSE16T* , still no go
Program SAPLSE16T does not exist
Appreciate your inputs.
Sincerely,
Sujith

The Obsession with Transaction codes based implementation methodology means that we have sacrificed a Process oriented iimplementation to a TC code
Hammering" of he Process down the throat of the client leading to so many failed implementations.
New SAP consultants think that SAP is all about TC and not its traditional integration and process orientation -sad situation indeed
In other news, there was a great blog about SE16T!
That's great. That will help a lot for finding related table.

Now you got a functional guy intrigued! I don't have access to SE16T, can someone please post the program name for it? I can perhaps bypass the access restrictions using SE38/SA38. Thanks in advance! Nice article, thank you!

Nice Articles Arghadip...
That's very useful, but it clearly doesn't exist on older boxes. I can see it on a S4/Hana 1610 system but not our older ECC systems, even relatively recent ones.
When and where did the tcode arrive?
I have this in ECC also below is my version
SAP_BASIS 740 0019 SAPKB74019
SAP_ABA 740 0019 SAPKA74019
SAP_GWFND 740 0019 SAPK-74019INSAPGWFND

Nice one to know. Could you please post more in VIM side as well. Thanks
Sure will try
Nice article bro
your way of explanation is good realy nice information it is usefull
All this is doing, you enter some text (like "cost center") and then it lists all tables, where the table name contains the text "cost center". You can do the same in SE11.
I just tried with "debitor" (customer in German) and it did NOT list any of the KN* tables, because their name is "Kundenstamm..." 🙂
