Aim of this blog post is to highlight the three key principles of SAP Intelligent Enterprise.
I also wanted to expand a little on the importance of the two types of business data, the O-data and the X-data.

The three key principles were explained in detail by SAP CEO Christian Klein at SAPPHIRE NOW 2020 keynote, you can watch the keynote here.

The Three Key Principles:

  • Integration

  • Innovation

  • Agility & Speed

On the principle of Integration, regardless of size, your enterprise needs to be able to run seamlessly across the value chain, this can only be achieved with integrated business processes and a harmonized data model and only SAP can provide this with its Intelligent Suite Qualities.

The SAP Intelligent Enterprise connects experience to intelligence and operations to provide a complete 360-degree view of your organisation. Bringing together all the data from the many different stakeholders in one business network, allowing you to leverage intelligence from both operational data (O-data) and experience data (X-data) in real time.

Important to note that operational data looks at business transactions to reveal what is actually happening, however to get a complete picture it needs to be combined with experience data which provides insight into why something is happening, by capturing human sentiment from customers, employees, and business partners at key moments. This is very important when looking to provide the best possible business outcome to customers.

The principle of Innovation is all about how to increase effectiveness of your enterprise, SAP are embedding AI in business applications to drive process automation and productivity, with SAP HANA playing the role of being a key enabler of innovation.

On the principle Agility and Speed, in a fast changing environment, enterprises need to be able to react quickly to business needs.
SAP has modularised the stack, which has accelerated time to value and implementation timelines.

There's a lot of buzz about digital transformation, however there's no real transformation without transforming business processes, SAP is at the centre of all of this as it runs business processes.
So enterprises need to seriously think about transitioning to S/4HANA to take advantage of new possibilities based on the IE (Intelligent Enterprise), running on S/4HANA your organisation can be more agile in a faster-moving environment and set goal of achieving breakthrough outcomes.
