Crossboarding 2.0 Introduction?

Crossboarding 2.0 which is also called Internal Hire is basically to onboard internal employee who will take up a new role in your organization with internal hire process. It enables to provide internal employees an opportunity to seek other roles within your organization that best suit their capabilities

Ghost Crossboarding 2.0 is the process where the internal candidate doesn’t go through the process defined for the external candidates. The new employment data is created for the candidate in Employee Central.  This provides career growth opportunities to existing resources with the skill and talent to be mapped with organization requirement and explore ways in which they can positively bring value to the organization

What makes it different from the External Hire?

Crossboarding 2.0 provides internal employee with an opportunities to apply for other roles in the organization which suits there capabilities. An organization can have a positive impact by giving career opportunity and growth to existing with right skill and talent. It might not be required to sign the additional disclosures or policies.

Ghost Crossboarding 2.0 helps to create a process where the event derivation is created in employee central without much manual intervention.

Ghost Crossboarding 2.0configuration?

The standard onboarding process makes the candidate go through several steps from collection of Personal data to submission of compliance forms etc.

For Ghost Crossboarding 2.0 the candidate doesn’t need to go through the new hire data review step, Personal data collection step or compliance step. To meet this requirement we need to make changes to the business Rule ONB2_ECDataCollectionCheck.

Employee Steps:

  • Apply for Job – Internal candidate goes to the careers and search for the openings.

  • Click on Apply.

  • Job application screen pop ups, where the address and other data gets auto populated from employee profile.

  • Make sure that Employee Central and Employee Profile data are in sync.

  • Go ahead and apply for the job

Initiate Onboarding:

The candidate recruitment steps gets completed and candidate moved to “To Be Hired” step.

This is similar to how we initiate Onboarding for external candidate in system. SuccessFactors system automatically recognizes the candidates as internal and process the Crossboarding 2.0 steps. We don’t have to do anything from our end for system to recognize the candidate as internal or external.

Ghost Crossboarding 2.0 Completed:

  • No new hire data review steps executed.

  • No personal data collection step executed

  • No Manage Pending hire step is there for Internal candidate

  • A new record is inserted in employment Information

  • So the New record gets created with new position details and dates.

  • The business rules need to be created in employee central to evaluate change in the employee job information and update the Event and event reason.

Trigger for an automatic transfer process for internal hires can be created if there is Intelligent Services and an integration with Employee Central.

Conclusion:

As the product will grow may be more new enhancement will be observed and changes in the process may also be observed, but while doing one of the implementation for Onboarding 2.0 I realized the need for this document and process to follow. It is by my experience and knowledge which i came up to the stage and reflected in this blog. Hope this will help whoever is there implementing or in a plan to implement Ghost Crossboarding 2.0.
