Hi Guys,

We will see about the types of cross calculations in SAP Analytics Cloud in this blog post.

There are three types of calculations in Cross calculations:

  • Calculated Measures:

    • Calculated measures is a measure where an user can define their own formula with the predefined SAC functions.

  • Restricted Measure:

    • Restricted measure is a measure where an user can restrict the measure based on a selected value of an dimension.

    • For Ex: If you want to see a measure value for the year 2020 alone, then we can create a restricted measure based on the year dimension and '2020' as the value. Please refer the below screenshot.

  • Aggregation:

    • We can set the aggregation type of the measure as below:

      • SUM - Gives the summation of the records

      • COUNT - Gives the unique count

      • COUNT excl. NULL - Gives the unique count excluding NULL value

      • COUNT excl.0, NULL - Gives the unique count excluding 0 values and NULL values

      • MIN - Gives the lowest value

      • MAX - Gives the Highest value

      • AVERAGE - Gives the average

      • AVERAGE excl. NULL - Gives the average excluding NULL value

      • AVERAGE excl.0, NULL - Gives the average excluding 0 values and NULL

      • FIRST - Gives the first value

      • LAST - Gives the last value

    • One of the above aggregation type will be set and the aggregation will be done based on the mentioned dimension  in the 'Aggregation Dimensions' dropdown as sown in the below screenshot.
