Manager’s play a key role in diversity and inclusion. We at SAP firmly believe, any change needs to flow top-down as well as bottom-up. Leadership endorsement and sponsorship really sets the context when it comes to business code of conduct and inclusive culture which we strive for.

On June 9th, Sameer Ranjan Kumar, Pride@SAP lead, engaged in a conversation with the management team of SAP SuccessFactors Engineering. It started with Sameer’s coming out story, which was followed by varied topics like societal stereotyping, homophobia, transphobia, unconscious bias and so on and so forth.

Second part of the talk was around SAP's offerings for the LGBTQIA+ community. There was also a broadcast of upcoming sessions which are planned for the Pride Month. Role of allies was discussed and there was a very positive response from the audience.

Here are a couple of feedback testimonials that the session received :

Great session Sameer, really heartening to hear your story and educating us on this important topic!
~ Sumaithangi Ramakrishnan, Kodandaraman, HRBP, SAP SuccessFactors

Thank you Sameer for sharing your amazing story with us. The instances and experiences quoted by you gave us interesting insights on how to be more inclusive and sensitive to the communities around us. Kudos!!!
~ Soumya R, Site Transformation Lead, SAP SuccessFactors

Thanks for a great session !! Thanks for sharing your journey with us. It was quite insightful.   More power to you !
~ Kalpana Karunamurthi – Senior Director of Engineering, SAP Successfactors

The management team of SAP SuccessFactors Engineering vouched for LGBTQIA+ inclusion and its need at workplace. The managers showed interest for LGBTQIA+ sensitization program and the team would be going the training curriculum in the coming months. This is a very positive sign for any organization as it clearly showcases the sense of inclusion which each stakeholder exhibits with great pride!
