“Ask Pride@SAP “ is a tool which enables LGBTQIA+ community and its allies to ask questions anonymously without revealing their real identity. This tool is accessible by all SAP employees. We at SAP absolutely understand the reasons why an individual might not want to be “out” within the organization. There could be family or societal circumstances which do not essentially allow LGBTQIA+ employees to reveal their identity at workplace. Having said that, we at SAP still want to ensure that our employees from the LGBTQIA+ community get the support or access to information or resources (even if they are not out). The support could be with regards to policies or benefits or any other offering.

This tool was launched on June 4, 2020 by Santarshi Samanta, Anita Joshi and Sameer Ranjan Kumar from Pride@SAP - India Chapter. This session was attended by employees from various locations. The session started by introduction of the tool following by its demo. After the demo, there was a discussion on how it can help the LGBTQIA+ employees. The session was concluded by Q&A with questions spanning across various aspects like usage of the tool, its scalability to other Pride@SAP chapters across the globe, need for a specialized tool and so on and so forth. The session concluded with a group picture and you can clearly see the smiling faces here.

Here are couple of feedback testimonials that the session received.

Creating an inclusive environment in which we can all thrive and be who we really are is essential for any business to be successful in the long run. With this new tool to raise questions as a member or an ally of the LGBT+ community, we can build a basis of trust and comfort for such topics at SAP and drive our efforts to true inclusion.
