Import and Export Business Roles

Do you need to create similar Business Roles with catalog assignments in Productive system as in your Quality system? Is this process time consuming?
With 2005, it is now possible to import and export Business Roles from Quality system to Productive system.

How can this be done – Please follow below steps:

Log into Q system
App – Maintain Business Roles
User – ADMINISTRATOR

Click Download and then Download Business Roles.
The Business Roles are downloaded in xml format

Now log into P system
App – Maintain Business Roles
User – ADMINISTRATOR

Click Upload

In the pop up, upload the Business Roles xml file

The required Business Roles can then be selected based on your requirement. If a Business Role already exists in P system – it is displayed with status existing and if a Business Role does not exist – it is displayed with status New.

If an existing Business Role is selected – it overwrites existing role and replaces all catalog assignments of this role.
The new Business Role simply gets uploaded along with its Catalog assignments.

With this feature in place, you need not have to create the Business Roles from template and then add the necessary Catalogs but simply use the Import/Export feature and make this process more efficient!!
