(November 23th) Delivery date will be postponed to 29th January 2021*.

(September 30th) The Registration for the BETA is definitely closed.

Update (10th of June 2020): Thanks to all customers who applied. The list of participants is now complete. Please do not apply anymore.

Hi all,

In this time of uncertainty we continue and move forward. The next major release of SAP Business Client was planned for September 2020 and will be shipped together with SAP GUI for Windows 7.70. The release is postponed to 21th January 2021*.

*The good news: More time – more features

  • Complete 64-bit version for SAP Business Client

  • Dynamic Browser Control Selection

(Updated September 15th)

Business Client 7.70: What can you expect?

  • UX Integration: SAP Quartz theme (Fiori 3)

You will be able to select from SAP Quartz Light and Dark as well as black and white high contrast themes. Together with SAP GUI for Windows 7.70 Beta, this enables you to apply a consistent Fiori 3 look mainly in FLP scenarios.

  • Browser Integration: New Edge browser control option

SAP Business Client 7.70 is integrating the Microsoft Edge WebView2 control using Microsoft Edge (Chromium) as the rendering engine. Different from the Chromium control, which we currently offer and deploy with each patch, the control is available with installation of the Edge browser. Updates to the WebView2 Runtime will be fully managed by Microsoft keeping you up to date automatically.

  • Cloud Integration: Run central Fiori launchpad (cFLP) in SAP BC

CFLP is the entry point for applications and content from various SAP on-premise and cloud systems. SAP BC enables you to run transactions in on-prem systems using SAP GUI for Windows.

What will you get?

As soon as the program starts (this is expected early in June), you will get:

  • Access to the most current version of SAP Business Client 7.70 and SAP GUI for Windows 7.70* for test purposes

  • A document with additional information on the new features

  • A contact within the SAP Business Client development team that you can use to provide feedback to us or ask questions you may have

*In parallel to the SAP Business Client 7.70 SAP Beta program, a beta program for SAP GUI 7.70 is conducted. The Test and Evaluation Agreement will be valid for both frontend programs. You can find more information on the SAP GUI for Windows Beta in this blog post by Frank Krause.

How to apply?

We are looking for approximately 10 participants to actively test and provide feedback. If you are interested, please simply mail me at:

sandra.thimme@sap.com

Please include:

  • Customer number

  • Contact name

We will then send you a Test and Evaluation Agreement (TEA). Once this is returned to us, we will provide details of how to get, install, and configure the Business Client test version and use the new features.

We would love to hear from you.

Kind regards,

Sandra Thimme
