This blog post is part of a series called “Tip of the Week”. In this week's tip we'll see how you can skip unnecessary steps and make the business process more efficient.

Well structured processes, clear hierarchy, four-eyes principle, chain of command … many methodologies were developed and implemented in organizations to ensure that decisions and actions are taken by the right people and while taking into account the relevant considerations, consequences and risks. For sure, when implemented correctly, these methods prove to be successful – each step in the flow leads to the following one, completed eventually by the required outcome.

But… how about some flexibility? There must be some cases in which strict process could slow down the flow or cause a bottle neck in certain steps. For example, when authorizer returns a document to the originator for further updates and the originator is not available. To increase the approval process defined in your company, SAP Business One introduces a new option:

By enabling authorizers to update document drafts in pending status, unnecessary iterations can be skipped and documents in approval process can be completed more efficiently.

Available in SAP Business One 10.0 PL01 and SAP Business One 10.0, version for SAP HANA PL01.
