COVID-19 SAP SuccessFactors Configuration to Help You Track Employee Impact

The COVID-19 pandemic may compel companies to track disaster-related employee data. Such data may help companies to build organizational and individual response plans. While, currently, SAP SuccessFactors does not provide the necessary fields for such tracking, customers can configure a portlet to manage this. 

Solving the COVID-19 response management challenge

At Rizing, our Chief HR and Transformation Officer, Katie Obi, spearheaded our efforts to track and report on COVID-19 exposures while maintaining the confidentiality of all employees. In the photo below, you see how we converted our tracking plan into a SuccessFactors portlet in Employee Central.

Following our configuration guide can help companies capture employee information for their organizational and individual response plan needs. This portlet provides the following advantages over ad hoc spreadsheet or SmartSheet tracking: 

 

  • Tracks all employees – leavers and starters are included.  
  • SuccessFactors role-based permissions ensure health-related data is protected – versus tracking in a Smartsheet or Excel file. 
  • Data can be pulled into your analytics tool of choice.  
  • Categories are customizable to align with the company’s requirements. 

 

 

How to get Rizing’s COVD-19 SuccessFactors configuration guide

Here are our step-by-step instructions on how to configure your own system to collect important COVID-19 employee information.

Why tracking COVID-19 data is important  

 

Tracking employee events related to COVID-19 empowers HR with data to create individual risk management plans, track exposure, and enable your leadership team to respond. Larger organizationmay have disaster management services for pandemics. However, this configuration may help small-to-medium businesses like Rizing manage the crisis. 

 

Additionallyyou may be asked to provide COVID-19 data, perhaps as mandated by local authorities. Companies may find that maintaining such information in their HR system allows for more efficient and accurate reporting.
