Deployment Options For Integrating EC With SAP S∕4 HANA

Core Hybrid HCM
You use Employee Central as the system of record holding HR data, but existing HR processes such as payroll, time management, or custom processes still run in an SAP S∕4 HANA system landscape. If you use this deployment option, the HR data mastered in Employee Central needs to be replicated to the SAP S∕4 HANA system to support the local processes running there.
Full Cloud HCM
All HR processes run in SAP SuccessFactors. If you use this deployment option, SAP SuccessFactors is the system of record holding all HR data and hosting all HR-related processes. But non-HR processes, such as financials or project management, still run in an SAP S∕4 HANA system landscape. Some of these processes need HR data, that’s why the HR data mastered in Employee Central needs to be replicated to an SAP S∕4 HANA system.
Data replication means converting the data from the Employee Central to the SAP S∕4 HANA data model or the other way round.
Replication from Employee Central to SAP S/4 HANA On Premise
Software Component:
PA inbound Service Enabling (PA_SE_IN) – Required to replicate employee data, organizational objects from Employee Central to SAP S/4 HANA
Replication from SAP S/4 HANA On Premise to Employee Central
Software Component:
Master Data Replication FI (ODTFINCC) – Required for the replication of cost center master data using IDoc/XML messages and CSV files.

Installation

Define the installation queue or we can define the queue manually.

Since we often install more than one add-on at the same time, we must first select the add-on packages to be installed. The system calculates the installation queue from the add-on packages that are selected, that is, all packages that the installation consists of in the correct order.

Extend the installation queue with Support Packages.

If, in addition to the add-ons to be installed, we also want to add support packages to the installation queue, we can select support packages to be installed for every software component on the support package selection tab page.

Optional: We can include modification adjustment transports into the installation queue.

If we have already adjusted a modification (for example, in the development system) and have created an adjustment transport for it, then we can include this in the installation queue in the follow-on systems.

Define the start options or check those selected.

We can define start options for
the individual modules according to your system requirements. If we confirm the dialog field without changing any settings, the import tool uses the default start options, in accordance with the selected import mode. If we change any settings, we can save them as a template for future import activities.

Install the queue.

The selected start options determine when the queue installation will begin. For example, if we have selected the option immediate start for the preparation module, then the installation starts straight after we have confirmed the start options.

Depending on the import mode selected, SAP Add-On installation tool executes the installation.

Many thanks for that nice blog!

What about Replicating Time Data to SAP HCM S4 HANA ? SAP did not provide any documentation dedicated to Replication of Time Data from EC to S4.

There is documentation for classic SAP HCM on premise. Does that doc apply for S4 too?

      Regards.
