In a recent pair of webinars hosted by APOS Systems, the focus was squarely on SAP Analysis Office.

In the first webinar, Jeanne Bigonnet, Product Manager Analytics, SAP, provided an update for Analysis Office, including the the new SAP Analytics Cloud Add-In for Microsoft Office, and what’s new in SAP Analysis Office 2.8.

In the second webinar, APOS Solution Consulting Manager Alan Golding showed us how APOS solutions can extend SAP Analysis Office capabilities with regard to live data connectivity, scheduling, bursting, publishing/distribution and content management.

Both of these webinars are available for viewing on-demand at the APOS website.

Jeanne started her SAP Analysis Office Update with an overview of what Analysis Office has to offer, including multi-dimensional analysis and planning in Microsoft Excel, and content creation capabilities.

Jeanne talked about the place of SAP Analysis Office within the Cloud-centric SAP Analytics Portfolio 2020.

Jeanne described the new SAP Analytics Cloud Add-in for Microsoft Office…

Live Data Connectivity

Live data connectivity is new in version 2.8. You can create a direct connection to SAP Analytics Cloud.

SAP Analysis Office, edition for SAP Analytics Cloud supports live connections to SAC, and “indirect” live access to HANA views and BW queries via SAC.

Jeanne told us that the feature sets for the two editions are more or less identical, and the only differences are in licensing and data sources.

Live data connectivity also featured heavily in the follow-up webinar from APOS. The APOS Live Data Gateway provides live data connectivity for a wide range of non-SAP data sources

In fact, SAP recognizes the contribution that APOS makes to SAP Analytics Cloud connectivity in their roadmap.

Live Data Gateway’s universal live data connectivity includes the data sources critical to a complete Analytics package.

APOS solutions can also extend Analysis Office’s capabilities in scheduling, bursting, distribution, and content management.
