In February we have released our innovations in the area of Warehouse Management in SAP S/4HANA Cloud 2002. You can find the overview of this release by accessing the following link to our “What’s New in Warehouse Management in SAP S/4HANA Cloud 2002”  presentation.

This release brings with it features and enhancements across all areas and processes of the warehouse such as inbound and outbound, internal replenishment strategies and integration to production.

From the highlights of this release, I would like to preview first the improved integration between production and Warehouse Management (WM) in the Cloud. Previously, Production Supply Areas (PSAs) couldn’t be assigned to warehouse managed storage location, but only to MM-IM managed locations (Manufacturing Management – Inventory Management). Furthermore, components which were staged to a PSA were never managed on storage bin level. Now PSAs can not only be assigned to a WM managed storage location, but also show the stock at a bin level, increasing visibility in the system.

Another highlighted feature is the Attachment Services for EWM Objects. With this feature, warehouse operators can attach pictures and documents to inbound or outbound delivery orders for documentation purposes.

Furthermore, with this release we bring to our customers a lean solution for serial number handling in their warehouse. With serial number handling for both receiving and shipping, it is possible to store serialized products in the warehouse and/or track which customer received which serial number.

For improving the user experience, we have a new Fiori App to process warehouse tasks (WT) for internal movements such as replenishment or rearrangement. With this App, which supports batch-managed products, users can view details of warehouse tasks, confirm or cancel single or multiple WTs, filter, sort or group internal warehouse tasks by their key attributes or print warehouse task lists.

One final highlight for today that I would like to mention is the ability to Schedule the Warehouse Task Creation for Picking. With this new feature, users can automate the picking warehouse task creation via a job running in the foreground or e.g. periodically in the background. They can also define the Outbound Deliveries for automatic picking WT creation based on various criteria such as warehouse number, shipment data, product data and other.
