Part 13: Create your own object value selector and assign it to a standard screen

You will learn how to create your own object value selector (OVS). An object value selector provides you a selector for an existing table. We will build it based on our seminar mgmt. solution but generally you can build it also based on standard objects.

After we created it, we will also asign it to a standard UI. In our sample we assign it to the line item of the quote where we earlier added an extension field that stores our seminar mgmt. ID. You will use the extensibility explorer in order to assign it to the standard UI.

We will do the most basic steps required but there is more you could do like enhancing the search of it. Also in the next video after this one I will show you how to get a nice description instead the ID displayed after you selected a value.

In my previous video I explained how to add an extension field to a standard screen.

Watch the next part: how to use a retrieve in order to set the description on our OVS / extension field.

There is a little piece of information that you will need in order for the explanation in this video to work.

**** It is required to Bind these fields to Outport parameter as explained here:

      HI.

The video is so good. I saw it well.

I want to ask you a question.

Does the XBO not appear in the Select BOModel of the image?

      Well, have a nice day.
