SAP Business Suite 7 Extension: What This Means for SAP ERP Human Capital Management Customers

You may have seen the recent SAP announcement providing clarity and choice on SAP Business Suite 7, which includes SAP ERP 6.0. In this announcement, SAP announced an extended maintenance for SAP Business Suite 7 by two additional years for mainstream maintenance until 2027. Customers who want to continue to use the SAP ERP Human Capital Management (SAP ERP HCM) beyond 2027, will have an extended maintenance option, available beginning in 2028, until the end of 2030 for a premium of two percent above existing maintenance prices.

SAP ERP HCM & Payroll is part of the SAP Business Suite 7, so the extension of mainstream maintenance until 2027, followed by optional extended maintenance till 2030, applies to on premise HCM & Payroll customers. To be eligible for the additional maintenance beyond 2025, they must be on one of the latest three Enhancement Packages (Enhancement Pack 6, 7, or 8) as outlined in SAP Note 2881788 (log-in required).

SAP Human Capital Management for SAP S/4HANA, on-premise edition

In 2019, SAP SuccessFactors addressed customer feedback with an updated announcement for SAP Human Capital Management for SAP S/4HANA, on-premise edition that extended mainstream maintenance for SAP ERP HCM customers beyond 2027. In order to be eligible, customers need to migrate to the new solution that can be deployed alongside or embedded within SAP S/4HANA. Additional details can be found in this blog post.

Our plans for SAP Human Capital Management for SAP S/4HANA, on-premise edition have not changed and we are have the same scope and planned delivery date of Q3 2022. The new announcement on SAP Business Suite 7 gives customers interested in this offering additional time to migrate.

Customers Have Choice and Flexibility

In summary, SAP ERP HCM & Payroll customers who wish to keep their current solution can do so under maintenance until 2027, with the option for extended maintenance until 2030.

For those customers wanting to keep their current solution beyond 2030, they have the choice of migrating from SAP Business Suite 7 to SAP Human Capital Management for SAP S/4HANA, on-premise edition beginning September 2022 (modules included in the solution scope are outlined in the blog post).

We have committed to this offering until 2040. Here is a diagram showing the updated options.

This gives SAP ERP HCM customers additional time to explore options how to transition to our go-forward offering SAP SuccessFactors or migrate to SAP S/4HANA.

Die kürzlich veröffentliche Wartungsverlängerung verschafft Klarheit und Wahlmöglichkeiten für die SAP Business Suite 7, inklusive SAP ERP 6.0. In dieser Veröffentlichung hat SAP die Wartung der SAP Business Suite 7 um weitere zwei Jahre für die Mainstream-Wartung bis 2027 verlängert. Kunden, die SAP ERP Human Capital Management (SAP ERP HCM) nach 2027 weiternutzen wollen, haben ab 2028 bis Ende 2030 eine Extended-Wartungsoption für zwei Prozent oberhalb des aktuellen Wartungspreises.

SAP ERP HCM & Payroll ist Bestandteil der SAP Business Suite 7. Die Verlängerung der Mainstream-Wartung bis Ende 2027, gefolgt von einer optionalen Extended-Wartung bis Ende 2030, gilt damit auch für On-Premise HCM & Payroll Kunden. Um diese verlängerte Wartung nach 2025 nutzen zu können, müssen Kunden auf den letzten drei Enhancement Packages (EhP 6, 7, oder 8), wie im Hinweis 2881788 (Log-In erforderlich) ausgeführt, sein.

Die angepassten Einträge für die SAP ERP HCM Lösungen finden sie in der Product Availability Matrix (PAM).

SAP Human Capital Management for SAP S/4HANA, on-premise edition

Auf Basis von Kundenrückmeldungen hat SAP SuccessFactors in 2019 die Ankündigungen für SAP Human Capital Management for SAP S/4HANA, on-premise edition angepasst. Die Lösung bietet SAP ERP Kunden nach 2027 eine HCM On-Premise-Option. Um dieses neue Produkt nutzen zu können müssen Kunden nach SAP S/4HANA migrieren, entweder eingebettet oder auf einer separaten Instanz. Weitere Details finden sie in diesem Blog.

Die Pläne für SAP Human Capital Management for SAP S/4HANA, on-premise edition haben sich nicht geändert. Der Lösungsumfang und die geplante Verfügbarkeit ab September 2022 bleiben unverändert. Die Wartungsverlängerung für die SAP Business Suite 7 gibt Kunden, die sich für die Lösung interessieren, zusätzliche Zeit zu migrieren.

Kunden haben die Wahl und Flexibilität

Zusammengefasst können SAP ERP HCM & Payroll Kunden, die ihre aktuelle Lösung beibehalten wollen, diese durch die Mainstream-Wartung bis Ende 2027 betreiben; mit Extended-Wartung bis 2030.

Kunden, die ihre bestehende Lösung nach 2030 beibehalten wollen, habe die Möglichkeit ab Q3 2022 von der SAP Business Suite 7 zu SAP Human Capital Management for SAP S/4HANA, on-premise edition zu migrieren (Der Lösungsumfang ist in diesem Blog dargestellt). Die Zusage dafür gilt bis 2040. Das nachfolgende Schaubild zeigt die angepassten Optionen.

Dies gibt SAP ERP HCM Kunden zusätzliche Zeit, um Optionen zu evaluieren wie sie zur zukunftsweisende SAP SuccessFactors Lösung oder nach SAP S/4HANA migrieren können.

      Customers who move to S4 with CP have the least choice. They must be off of the same functionality that is available in ECC through 2027 by 2025. The new functionality is not yet determined and is available starting in 2022. Will the S4 2022 functionality have the same time management capabilities?

      Ralf: Will the existing S4 with CP (Compatibility mode) be the same or similar as the upcoming on-premise edition of HCM for S/4HANA? We are in the options analysis and detailed planning phase of our project and we will need to evaluate our roadmap options.

      Hi Ralf,

      thx for your Blog and information about the HCM Roadmap.

      Does this mean that LSO also runs in S/4HANA? So we don't need a pre-Project to move LSO to SFSF if we migrate SAP ERP ECC 6 to S/4HANA 1909?

      Thanks for your detailed blog.

       

      With upgrade of H4S4 on promise, I understand that we can use all functionalities currently used in ERP on promise.

      Regarding Successfactors integration to ERP on promise:

      Is it mandatory to migrate from Legacy replication ( NON- BIB ) to BIB if clients want opt H4S4 on promise ?
