Blog It Forward – Enric Castella Gonzalez
Dear community!
First of all, after a long time in silence, thanks to David Ruiz Badia for adding me to this fun initiative.
About me
I was born in Barcelona in 1985, my parents have one child.
I love Barcelona but my heart is divided between the city and the mountain, especially where my father was born, called Gósol. Both in Catalonia
When I was little I loved to play with LEGOs, maybe this passion was what motivated me to be an engineer.
School bored me a lot, studying has never been my strong area and some of my classmates laughed at me for my accent. My teachers always told me that I would not be able to arrive or finish university. This facts, sometimes it made me go uphill to think that at school I would find certain people. But it gave me a lot of strength to prove that they were wrong.
I loved the F1 but not the glamorous world of pilots, I liked the engineering world behind, I loved listening to interviews with people like Toni Cucarella or Joan Villadelprat. My first option was always the mechanics of competition but I did not get enough qualification to enter the university to do mechanics. So I chose my second passion: computer engineer.
My life is a mix between city where I work and study and the village where I participated in all popular traditions. For example, I sung in a in a religious coral, I’ve never sang well, but it was the excuse to be with my friends… I think that nobody of my friends really sang well, XD
Now, In the town, I love to take aerial shots with the drone, walk with my dog, and of course drink beers with my friends.
The questions
Now, time to focus back on David’s questions.
- Share a fun fact/story about yourself that people don’t know?
I’m afraid to be on stage, even as “decorative” but from 2006 to 2018 I have been a DJ at the parties of my town sometimes even in front of 300 people.I even had a special day where I played music of all the decades and was quite known
I love playing music, although I recognize that the days before I have a stomach ache from my nerves.I have currently left it because since a month before it makes me too nervous and we must give way to the new generations;)
- Name the person who affected you most in your career/ way of thinking and why?
Maybe Edgar Jubillar and Arnau Rovira, two of my bosses for over 11 years they always believed in me to do new things and they gave me the opportunity to be where I am today.
- If you could be a super hero (or are in your spare time) who would you be?
Maybe it would be Captain America, I love his power of constant improvement when things seem lost.
- What do you most enjoy about the SAP Community?
Share, share and share. I think that many times thanks to the community I have been able to unleash many projects 🙂

Hi Enric Castella Gonzalez Thanks a lot for sharing more about you.
Now I guess that at next sitBarcelona 2020, we could set up some kind of party with a professional DJ..... 😉
Cheers!
Thanks David!
I'm ready for the next SIT 🙂
Hi Enric Castella Gonzalez , and welcome to the #blogitforward family!
Thank you for sharing your story. I think with walking dogs, drinking beer, and ABAP will never die (along with our love for the Community, of course) you and I could be good friends 🙂
Please share a picture of your pup? Here's my girl Sunny when she was just a few months old. She has a lot more white around her muzzle now, but is still just as sweet. <3
Hi Susan Keohan,
Thanks! And congratulations for this great and funny initiative 🙂
Your pup is very nice! I love dogs.
This is Filomena, a Cavalier Charles King, she loves to sleep and sunbathe.
