If you do business in Mexico, you need to report a series of legal reports to stay compliant with SAT (Servicio de Administración Tributaria), the legal institution that regulates taxes in Mexico. SAP helps you to stay compliant with the latest legal changes with the newest technologies available in the market.

The generation of legal reports are supported in SAP ECC, SAP S/4HANA, and SAP S/4HANA Cloud.

Find below a summary by version of the legal reports covered by SAP in the standard solution:

Account Balance RPFIGLMX_EACCOUNTING MX_ACCT_BAL_REP

SAP ECC (Business Suite)

In SAP ECC, the mandatory Electronic Accounting reports and DIOT report are available in ABAP version (accessible through SE38 transaction) since the SAP_APPL 600 version. These reports are regularly maintained and supported according to the latest resolutions of SAT.

Check the FAQ Notes below for more information about implementation and configuration of the reports in SAP ECC:

SAP S/4HANA and SAP S/4HANA Cloud

SAP introduced a new framework for managing legal reports in S/4HANA, which is called ACR (Advanced Compliance Reporting). Thus, all existing ABAP legal reports supported in SAP ECC were rebuilt in S/4HANA on ACR framework to offer you a better experience and performance with the newest technology available.

That is, the legal reports already supported in SAP ECC are also available in ACR framework within the basic version, which doesn’t require any additional license.

Reports that were developed by SAP after ACR delivery, as the VAT Declaration and the Auxiliary Report of Folios are available only in ACR – so they are not present in SAP ECC, and are part of the ACR premium license. For more information about the premium license of ACR, which enables you with additional legal reports and lets you create new reports on your own inside the tool, please contact your account executive.

You find more details of ACR basic and priced reports in the SAP S/4HANA Feature Scope Description, that is available in the S/4HANA product pages. You can find them here:

Parallel Support in SAP S/4HANA and SAP S/4HANA Cloud

Even though the reports in ABAP version (see the table above) are already sunset in SAP S/4HANA, they are still accessible - the objects are not yet obsolete in the system.

Keeping those reports still available in SAP S/4HANA systems has the purpose of providing you some time to migrate to the reports available in ACR version.

If you run with SAP S/4HANA and still run with Electronic Accounting reports in ABAP, keep in mind that the support for reports in ABAP version in SAP S/4AHANA is limited to bug fixes and legal changes.

New features delivered by SAP in SAP S/4HANA are only applied in Electronic Accounting reports in ACR.

It’s not yet defined when the ABAP reports for Electronic Accounting will be removed from SAP S/4HANA systems, but it’s planned to happen soon, as all existing reports are already available and stable in ACR. So, please mind on planning your migration to ACR. ?

We hope this post helps you to understand the scope delivered by SAP for legal reports in Mexico!
