In Part 3:SAP Business objects: Let’s make installation simple with combination of Linux and ASE DB

We learned about creating Databases and not in this part we will be looking at installing Business objects first node.

Lets start… Keep in mind this is our first Tomcat+BOBJ server

  1. You have user created to install BOBJ
  2. You have mounted required disks

1. Installing ODBC drivers for ASE to connect DB server from App server

Start installation of ASE DB

 

Click next and provide installation path for driver. In our case /sybase/<SID>

Select Custom installation

Select options below

 

Select license info

 

Start installation and wait till in finish

Add following in to your interfaces file

You can copy content from your DB server

 

You have configured .cshrc file for user after installing drivers

 

2. SAP Business Object Installation

Lets start installation

Run ./setup.sh

 

Select Language
Select installation directory ex. /bobj
Wait till installation start
Next on successful check
Accept to continue
Provide key
Select Language Packs
Select Full
Configure an existing database
Select option 4 SAP Sybase ASE
Same option for Audit DB
Install the default
Configure subversion
Configure SIA
Keep default CMS Port
Provide passwords and key
Provide DB server and user information (CMS)
Provide DB server and user information (AUDIT)
Provide Tomcat ports
HTTP listening port
Subversion info
SMD Agent if you want to configure or not
Introscope
Start installation
wait till installation completes
Post installation steps
Installation completed

Now you hace successfully installed your first server

Lets move to next part installing or adding one more server to this cluster
