Until the early 1980’s different organizations and companies used multiple applications for their business needs. Every department, sales, finances, HR, etc., would not only operate on different platforms but would also have to coordinate and synchronize their data. Of course, this would slow down the work resulting in time and money lost, as well as ineffective management of security and other processes - not to mention a poor and insufficient client experience.

However, this all changed when SAP introduced its ERP solutions. This essentially meant that one application, or software, could contain all of those different business functions in one place, also known as “one-stop-shop”.The benefits of being able to control data of all departments on one platform are countless. For instance, overall company data is protected in a secure and regulated system, one that houses customers’ and financial data. Furthermore, the integration of data optimizes productivity and efficiency, eliminating redundant processes, tasks, and content.

Thus, implementing a cloud-based seamless technology would elevate businesses, transforming them into an Intelligent Enterprise - one that accelerates processes and stands out in the market. But more importantly, as it allows you to transform data into insight, it allows for process automation, innovation and offers a strong connection with the digital ecosystem.

Since contemporary companies are data-driven and rely on these for future endeavors, thorough and most accurate data can be priceless. One could say that data makes the digital world go around. According to MicroStrategy in 2025 the overall amount of data created worldwide would reach the whopping number of 163 zettabytes and 60% of those would be managed and produced by Intelligent Enterprises. In fact, today, 90% of enterprises claim that data and analytics nowadays are crucial to their digital transformation and current operation as well as possible initiatives. To this, the data overload requires real-time data analysis and therefore plays a key role in data completeness and accuracy.

These Intelligent Enterprises which are insight-driven, are currently growing at a pace of 30% per year and are 23 times more likely to expand their customer outreach, 6 times more likely to retain customers and as a result, are 19 times more likely to become more profitable. It comes as no surprise that an increasing number of organizations choose to integrate the latest technologies that would create more efficient, productive and cost-effective processes. It should be mentioned that the Intelligent Enterprise uses these data to do so much more; it can prioritize tasks, make useful recommendations, address repetitive tasks by automizing them, and more - all for the purpose of ensuring the best possible data insights that would lead to well-informed actions and solutions.

The baseline for the Intelligent Enterprise process, which is gradually becoming a necessity in our digital age, is SAP Leonardo, as well as focusing on Blockchain, IoT and big data, among other things. Intelligence Enterprise is all about digital innovation, along with the integration and scalability of solutions. As digital data only seems to grow and control our every aspect of life, from the brands we purchase to the content provided for us and the service we require, it would seem inevitable that large and medium scale organizations alike, would transform into an Intelligent Enterprise; one that can better cater not only to its living and mechanized workforce but also to its customers.
