The Job monitoring application in Focused Run helps to monitor ABAP jobs in your on-premise landscape. Job monitoring is the real-time observation of the jobs regarding cancellation, duration, technical start delays and if a daily or more frequent job is still running (metric “job active”). On top you can get alerted if critical job log messages occur.
New features in Job Monitoring Focused Run 2.0 FP2.
|Monitor all ABAP jobs via an admin client||You can monitor ABAP jobs in all system clients via one central admin client.|
|Auto-Adjust Group for customer network changes||You can allow systems to be automatically added to or removed from job groups by switching on the Auto-Adjust Group button on the Systems tab of the Configure Job Group page. If it is switched on and any changes in terms of adding or removing systems from a customer network takes place, then the same is replicated in the relevant job groups.|
|Monitor Standard Jobs and automatic adjustment in case of changes in system landscape||You can enable monitoring of all standard jobs for a job group by switching on the Monitor Standard Jobs button on the Jobs tab of the Configure Jobs Group page. Whenever a standard job is scheduled in the related systems, monitoring for it is activated.|
||You have the option in the alert management application to filter for job monitoring alerts for dedicated systems and clients.
|Decouple alert creation from data reception via push user||The batch job, SAP_FRN_AJM_ALERT_CALC, run by the user, FRN_BTC_AJM, enables decoupling of alert creation from data reception.|
|Adding and removing system based rules||
You can add and removed system based rules by choosing the Add and Remove button respectively on the Job Monitoring Rules tab of the Configure Job Group page.
By adding a system based rule, you can define monitoring independent of the retrieved job definitions.
|Display system and client information in Instance Details||You can view the system and client information if you drill down to the Instance Details list on the Jobs page.|
|Display the monitored number of jobs||In the Status Overview section of the Overview page, instead of the number of systems in which jobs are being monitored, the number of monitored jobs and the number of jobs in various statuses are displayed.|

Pre-requisites for setting up Job Monitoring :
- System Monitoring Setup of the Technical Systems
- Simple System configuration is completed for the customer network
- For FRUN 2.0 FP02 : Managed System ST-PI version must be at least on 7.40 SP12 / ST-PI 2008_1_700 SAPKITLRDU
- Before activating Job Monitoring, make sure that SDA Version is 1.41 or higher on all hosts related to systems on which you want to do job monitoring.
- If you have activated Job Monitoring and are planning to upgrade SDA Agent version on a host, you need to deactivate job monitoring for the particular customer network(s) before the SDA upgrade.
