In-line with SAP’s multi-cloud strategy,
OData Provisioning is now available on SAP Cloud Platform Cloud Foundry environment as part of the newly released service
SAP Cloud Platform Extension Factory, serverless runtime.
OData Provisioning has been available on the SAP Cloud Platform Neo environment in the form of “
SAP Cloud Platform OData Provisioning” from 2016. The service has seen steady rise in adoption since its launch. With the introduction of Cloud Foundry and multi-cloud strategy on SAP Cloud Platform, there has been a steady ask for OData Provisioning capability on this environment as well.
SAP Cloud Platform Extension Factory, serverless runtime is commercialized based on capacity units and is available under the Cloud Platform Enterprise Agreement (CPEA). For more information, refer to the
estimator.
As of today, all the
functional aspects which are available in
SAP Cloud Platform OData Provisioning (in Neo environment) form the feature set of OData Provisioning on Cloud Foundry. Moving forward, one can expect additional functionalities such as connectivity beyond SAP Business Suite, advanced routing and provisioning etc.
For customers who want to get on-boarded on OData Provisioning, this would mean configuring the connectivity to new Cloud Foundry environment and registering the Business Suite services on
SAP Cloud Platform Extension Factory, serverless runtime. For existing customers on the SAP Cloud Platform OData Provisioning (on Neo environment), this would mean recreating the connectivity artifacts.
