Become an Early Adopter of SAP C/4HANA side-by-side extensibility

In May 2019, SAP C/4HANA Foundation was provided to all SAP C/4HANA customers and partners, which “infuses SAP C/4HANA with agility, openness and extensibility and enables you to effortlessly design and deliver amazing customer experiences”. It uses SAP Cloud Platform Extension Factory to harmonize the way of extending SAP C/4HANA solutions.
Extensions are built side-by-side to the core SAP application to become more flexible when trying out new things and to decouple your customizations from the release cycles of the core applications. Follow my colleague Jamie Cawley and his blog to get insights into how to get started by using the open source project “Kyma” based on Kubernetes.

In the case of SAP C/4HANA Foundation, it means that you bring an idea for an extension case and we jointly discuss this including one of our tech evangelists for Kyma.
If we all agree that it’s a feasible use case, we align on a project structure with the clear intent of realizing the idea for productive use.
Afterwards, we regularly align on the progress of the project. The tech evangelist helps you (and your implementation partner) to get started and supports in case of questions. On top of that, we channel your feedback into the development organization to evaluate it for future releases.
At the end of the collaboration, we finalize the work by creating one or the other form of reference material on your project’s success.
