Hi Community Members,

Just like previously with Oracle 18c, and 19c with Multitenant,  I had the chance to test the Oracle 19c Upgrade with Database Vault.

This time the environment is:

Source Oracle RDBMS Release: 18

Activated Database Vault (during the whole upgrade)

SAP NW 7.5

Verdict:

  • RDBMS Software installtion is possible without specifying any additional option (easier installation)

  • Manual Listener Migration is recommended, but I would say 'stronly recommended'

  • no additional option is required for dbua.sap.sh

  • per default DBUA is executed by dbua.sap.sh with -skipListenerMigration option

  • avoid using 'Slient Mode' as much as possible
