How to report an incident for SAP Cloud Platform ABAP Environment from within ABAP in Eclipse

If you encounter an error in your SAP Cloud Platform ABAP environment you can now report an incident without having to leave your development environment. It’s now possible to launch the SAP ONE Support Launchpad from within the ABAP Development tools in Eclipse.

Just choose from the Help menu then entry Report Bug or enhancement

Select SAP

and in the next screen select SAP Cloud Platform ABAP Environment and press Finish.

You now have to select the ABAP Cloud Project you are working in. The component BC-CP-ABA has been automatically selected.

When you press the Launch Support Portal Button the browser is started and you have to authenticate at the SAP ONE Support Portal.

After having entered your credentials the incident is created with the fields Customer Name and System also already populated.

This way the incident safely reaches the correct queue.

Known issues

You have to make sure that the S-user that you use to authenticate at the SAP Support Launchpad is registered for this installation.

If the user is not correctly registered you will see another mandatory field called Subproduct beneath the Description field.

But here you will not be able to select the correct component BC-CP-ABA.
