Custom code for SAP S/4HANA conversions

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
UPDATED December 12, 2019
Further webinar details for January
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

After a system conversion to SAP S/4HANA, some existing custom-code objects will not work anymore. As such, there is a need to identify these objects in order to:

  • be able to budget the adaptation tasks in pre-project phase
  • adapt these objects (if they are used and still relevant) in the realize phase of the project

You need to adapt custom code after a conversion to SAP S/4HANA. For this reason, SAP Enterprise Support Academy is offering a curriculum of several meet-the-expert (MTE) webinars. In this first part, you can learn from our experts:

  • Why custom code adaptations are needed in a conversion scenario
  • How to address and distinguish between changes required by the migration to SAP HANA and conversion to SAP S/4HANA respectively
  • The importance of SAP ABAP Test Cockpit (ATC) and ABAP development Toolkit before and during your SAP S/4HANA project
  • How to pick the most suitable of the four deployment options of the ATC for your given context/constraints
Before you can access the registration link, a one-time registration in SAP Learning Hub, edition for SAP Enterprise Support, is required. A detailed step-by step guide to registration can be found here.

Registration is open for the MTE sessions with live chat and open questions and answers
(recordings will be made available via the same link)

The SAP S/4HANA and Application Lifecycle Management value maps are a great place for customers in the pre go-live stage to get valuable information that can help
you to understand how to plan, prepare and go through your implementation processes. Also, with value maps you get access to SAP experts and are able to ask questions. Customers in post go-live stages will also find interesting information, like notifications about upcoming product updates, links to available resources, blogs written by specialists, and so on.

Note: To register for the value maps on SAP S/4HANA and Application Lifecycle Management, you may require access to SAP Learning Hub, edition for SAP Enterprise Support. Already-registered members can access the value map directly via the SAP Enterprise Support Value Maps learning room

      If this is "a wide and mandatory topic" then why does it require access to SAP Learning Hub, edition for SAP Enterprise Support? Why not make it available to everyone?

      Hello Jelena. Thank you for your comment. We would agree that the blog was a bit unclear, and as such, we have adjusted the wording.  Beyond SAP Enterprise Support, SAP also provides guidance on this topic including knowledge transfer within the SAP Education and OpenSAP platforms, with the custom code migration guide, through many blogs in SAP Communities, as well as a variety of additional SAP service offerings.  Also, the tools and processes provided for adapting custom code are available to all SAP customers. We hope this clarifies.

      I am including further references for your convenience.
