The Industrial Transformational ASIA-PACIFIC is a Hannover Messe event was hosted in Singapore on the 22nd – 24th October 2019, which is an Asia-Pacific’s leading trade event for Industry 4.0. This year, the fair hosted 18,000 attendees from 55 countries where it attracted an ecosystem of manufacturers, government agencies & businesses aimed to help them start, scale and sustain their adoption of Industry 4.0 processes and solutions.
This year, I traveled to Singapore in October to be present at the 2nd Industrial Transformational Fair. It was my first time on stage presenting our Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) solution suite to the world as the product manager, and while even though I was a tad nervous at the beginning, when I was on stage at the Sandbox Arena, I felt excited & energized to share how we can help your company, design sustainable products for a better world. On the second day, I also talked about how your company can calculate early cost estimates before detailed design has started and how this can impact and increase your company’s profit margins at the SAP Theatrette.

SAP showcased how an Intelligent Enterprise end to end process named Design to Operate can run at your company. As PLM is part of the design phase throughout the entire processes, this was my home turf throughout the 3 day event.

| Many found significance in understanding our SAP ECTR Solution as their companies design department is based in Singapore, Malaysia or Thailand and they were finding solutions to support CAD integration into the downstream business processes | Collaboration and requirements management was also a favourite hit solution that left great impressions to the attendees. They were curious on how they can better collaborate with their extended team with different data sets | Attendees loved the idea of being able to calculate their early products costs providing them with information on different cost confidence levels, easily replicating a cost structure and changing specific parts & the fact that the user experience is very similar to excel |
Visits from Singapore’s, Brunei’s & Cambodia Ministerial Delegation including Singapore’s Deputy Prime Minister, Mr. Heng Swee Keat, shows how important and relevant the transformation to Industry 4.0 for the Asia Pacific region.

My favourite part of this event is getting to know colleagues from the other side of the globe, understand the asian market and having a better overview of how business runs outside of Europe.
My impression is that the majority of attendees come from a general business background and since being half asian myself, I understand that we are quite the foodies and we also care for our beauty products, so I believe that our PLM Process Industries solutions would do significantly well in the APJ region.
