Everything Analytics at #SAPTechEd Las Vegas
You may not know it, but there is about to be a huge influx of people flocking to the Nevada desert looking to solve tough problems, learn from experts, and build a lasting community. No no, not Burning Man – that was last month. I’m talking about SAP TechEd, running from September 23-27 in Las Vegas.
If you’ve been to an SAP TechEd event before, you understand the appeal. It is a unique experience where you can spend your morning soaking up knowledge from sessions, have a one-on-one conversation with an SAP expert over lunch, get hands-on with labs and workshops in the afternoon, and casually exchange ideas with your peers from around the world in the evenings. Picking up best practices and practical advice from innovative SAP customers is easy: simply attend one of the many customer-led sessions. There just is no better place to engage with experts from SAP and the broader SAP ecosystem.
As for my area of expertise, Aba did not disappoint when he curated the Applied Intelligence learning journeys. This program is chock-full of fantastic information about analytics augmented with machine learning, chatbots that use artificial intelligence, planning solutions for the entire business, data warehousing in the cloud, the internet of things, and, of course, blockchain. All this content is delivered by brilliant presenters who are at the top of their respective fields. If you don’t believe me, listen to Aba describe it himself.
Though there are a plethora of technical and product-specific sessions that come in all flavours, the following three presentations distill SAP’s strategy on analytics into 30 minute morsels and simply cannot be missed.
- Hear Ivo Bauermann, Global VP and Head of SAP Analytics Product Management, explain how all organizations can Turn Business Data to Business Value with SAP HANA and SAP Analytics Cloud
Wednesday, September 25 from 10:30 – 11:30am
- Richard Mooney, Product Manager for Augmented Analytics, explores the future of analytics, ML, and AI with his take on Intelligent Analytics for the Decision-Maker
Thursday, September 26 from 1:30 – 2:00pm
- Planning across the entire organization is difficult but Matthias Kraemer, Head of HANA & Analytics Planning, will share insights on Collaborative Planning Using SAP Analytics Cloud, SAP IBP, and SAP S/4HANA
Tuesday, September 24 from 2:00 – 2:30pm
In addition to all the remarkable content in the sessions and Developers Garage, we have a great program available on the show floor. Our Applied Intelligence track bar has seven different pods (including SAP BusinessObjects!) staffed at all times with specialists just itching to share their knowledge, help solve a problem, or give a demo. We also have interactive demos, like the SAP Digital Boardroom, if you need to shake it up and get the blood flowing. For the nostalgic, relive your college days-gone-by as session speakers hold office hours in the Expert Interaction Area. If nothing else, please come by and introduce yourself.
For the hackers and gamers, we have a special treat: a unique DOTA 2-themed challenge with esports titans Team Liquid on Monday, September 23rd. On top of using SAP technology, including SAP Analytics Cloud, to pick apart match data and inform the strategy of a top esports team, there will be lots of food, drink, giveaways, and prizes. Please email email@example.com to register. Spots are limited and filling up fast.
And one more thing to note… if you love SAP products, my colleague Alejandro would love to meet you on the show floor at SAP Track Bar 20 to capture your feedback via a 10-15 minute survey. Once your review is published, you’ll receive a $25 Amazon e-gift card via e-mail provided by TrustRadius. Not going to SAP TechEd Las Vegas 2019? No problem! Simply write a review and we’ll extend the same offer.
Though we may not be burning a gigantic effigy, or burning anything for that matter, there are lots of reasons to come to TechEd Las Vegas this year. For fun, put your #1 reason for coming (or wanting to go) in the comments section below. Mine just might be the bowling. And make sure to stop by the Applied Intelligence pods and say hi. Can’t wait to see you there!
