Hi All,

installing the 32-bit Java Runtime Environment before running the Graphical Wire Editor in FLUID? That belongs to the past!

From Release SAP_UI 754 the Graphical Wire Editor in FLUID is based on HTML5 (inline SVG), therefore no Java plugin is needed anymore! We have used the SAP Galilei framework to achieve this improvement.

Below you can see the general layout of the new Graphical Wire Editor: On the right-hand side you can see the Work Area that includes the current wire model.

On the left-hand side, there is a Repository for the unwired UIBBs. Via drag & drop you can add new UIBBs to the wire model.



There are three types of UI Building Block (UIBB) outports

  • Lead Selection (yellow)

  • Selection (blue)

  • Collection (green)




Selected UIBB and Wires can be removed by using the Delete function of the Work Area Toolbar see the next figure below. The removed UIBB then appears in the Repository. See the next figure below.

By double-clicking on a wire you can open the Connector Details dialog. There is also a corresponding function in the toolbar. See the following two figures below.





To create a new wire you first select an outport of an UIBB. After this you can drag the new wire to the target UIBB. Once there is a mouse over the target, the new wire is created. See the following three figures.







The repository can be closed by using the splitter sash.



There are also functions to zoom into the graphic and to zoom out. See the following figure.



By using the Overview tool you can't get lost at any scale.
